I'm surprised how average most of the vehicles photos are. A lot of toy cars, a lot of junkers and old bikes. There wasn't anything in the collection that made me say, "Wow!"

The water challenge demonstrated a lot more innovative phototograpy.

Don't always expect the best pictures. There is always a jem or two in the bunch.

Seems that the member challenges have a higher percentage of the so-called "better pictures". Maybe it's less pictures so the good ones stand out more.

If the pictures are bad, why not comment on them and tell the photographer how to improve it. We all want to see nice pictures.

The reason I enter these challenges is so that someone who knows better can give me comments that help me to do better the next time. I have learned on previous challenges how to have better composed pictures and how to make them more interesting. When you mark me down without telling me more than "doesn't meet challenge" or "boring" that doesn't help me. Make suggestions for improvement please or at the very least tell me what it is that makes it boring. Thanks

I am in agreement here...if something is wrong I would like to know what you feel is wrong and hopefully get some advice on how to correct it.

What I guess I will never understand is how/why last night before I went to bed I had 20 votes and a score of 6.7 and get up this morning to 50 votes and 4.7...obviously something is not to the liking of voters, but I'll be damned if I know what or how to fix it...

Ahh, such are the joys of DPC

I thought about taking a shot of a toy car, but thought to myself, "everyone will do that."

Instead, I hiked across town, got access to , and shot a bunch of photos out in the cold Michigan weather.

I'm not saying that the toy car photos wern't good, but am I wrong to consider the ease in which they were shot? I did score a few of them up in the 7's.

I agree with everyone that we need some feed back because I have 56 votes and not a single comment. I would like to know how someone feels about my pic. I know it is not perfect but I am learning how to make my pics better.

You are not allowed to mention/disclose/talk too specifically about your photo if it is currently being voted on. You can use the edit button to change the details.

Eye of the beholder,is certainly evedent for this challenge.I tend to find personality in many worn old old things, where others just see junk regardless of image quality.

I was also disappointed with this challenge .. nothing really stood out from the rest so far in my voting. I am also very disappointed in my score - I started at 5.1 and I'm down to 4.4 .. my lowest yet. It sucks when you get that kind of score when you expect something higher, but at least it makes you try even harder next time around =/

Aha... I didn't know about disclosing details of a current challenge.

I was sure to be close the 6.0 range with my clean, crisp shot, but it started out at 5.66xx and now sits at a lowly 5.2xxx and may top out at 5.4xxx by the end. Dat sux

This is going to be a challenge with top pics just barely over the 7.0 mark. My guess is that some in high 6's might even place.

Oh yeah... 69 votes and not ONE comment

I myself am unhappy with the score on my pic. It is not the best by a long shot but it is crisp clear and a creative take on the subject. I would like to know when 5 stoped meaning average? I must be getting alot of low scores for my pic to be at 4.4 and not a single person has said why they are making it low.

Misery loves company!
I'm headed towards my lowest score ever!

I agree. I think the average will be a bit lower in this challenge. But that may just be that the Simplicity challenge subject allowed more lattitude and engendered more quality shots than most challenges.

I guess this means I am helping to drag the average down. I'm running about a half point lower than the last challenge. However, judging from the comments on this thread along with the average scores I'm giving, I think I may end up at the same or slightly higher percentile once it's over.

BTW...69 votes and TWO comments. I got you beat.

Sorry.. Im guilty. I,m new to this,,but I for one will try to make some comments in my future voting.I,d have to agree it would be nice to know what people are thinking. I just entered my first challenge.I knew going in it wasnt by far my best offering but I was anxious to enter.Still i felt i had a crisp shot.

Reading all the "no comment" comments motivated me to check out some of your photos-- they don't come up when I click on the author's name. Suggestions on how to view?

I confess I scored many pics this pm but commented on only a few. I'm new today (entered the edge challenge so I guess I'll experience this frustration later)!!

They won't come up until after the voting on Tuesday at midnight. Keeps the anonimity of the entries.

Hey! what do you mean nothing stood out in this challenge????? Maybe you just didnt see mine! ha ha I am not happy with my vote either it started out alright but I only have 4 comments and they all contradict one another so I guess each to thier own I liked it anyway!

I didnt think all the shots were dissappointing. I figured we get a lot of shot of cars & stuff. Some were shot at an interesting angle & look good. A lot of them, IMO, were cropped akwardly that took away from the focal point. I just finished voting on all of them & plan to go back & leave comments. So those who do not have comments, yet, rest assure you will get one from me soon!

I also didn't find them all that disappointing. Several really nice shots. I liked them so well I commented on 92 of them. Even if people don't pull off their idea or intention it's interesting to see/learn from what they did manage to capture.

I found this one one of the challenges where overall, if I were able to average the votes I gave, it would probably be a lower average score than usual.

I am not sure though that the ribbon winners will be any lower a score than usual. Although overall I found the challenge fairly average, not poor, just average, there were a few shots that did stand out and I would hope the winners have the usual sort of scores.
