One more time, and I'm done!

Check it out!

I've been re-designing my website for the last 2 months or so, and I've gone through 4 changes!

I think I'm happy with this version, although I need to do something about the galleries to spruce them up a bit.

Any suggestions, comments, quality control, complaints, questions, etc... are appreciated!

the main negative i saw was how awkward you seo texting comes across--it really is heavy-handed. i know what you're trying to accomplish, but there has got to be a better way than repeating the same phrases over and over.

it also was a bit slow to load (and i'm on broadband).

other than that, it's nice, clean, and easy to navigate.

From her in NYC via a Verizon fast DSL line that is one slow website. Less is more. It's too wordy.

Yeah it's slow to load for me aswell.
Try reducing the quality of your images, especially the thumbs as you can't tell the difference between quality 6 or quality 12 at that size.

(I fixed the grammar in the title of the thread as the result of anal retentive tendencies...)

I too found it slow to load. To be honest I preferred the last slide-show you did. This one just did not hold my attention, was too wordy and the music got on my nerves. It was kinda the exact opposite of the last one you did ... from no words to loads of words and from fun to uptight and boring. Sorry, I feel mean for saying all that but this version does not appeal to me at all and I found it a bit twee to be honest. But what do I know, I'm probably nothing like your typical client.

1) First thing I noticed was this -
MA wedding photographer and Massachusetts wedding photography. Wedding photographer Eric Limon for MA wedding photography. I am a candid and creative Massachusetts photojournalism wedding photographer for weddings in massachusetts or weddings in connecticut also wedding photography in new york. I am a Massachusetts wedding photographer who photographs weddings in MA, NY, CT for your Massachusetts wedding choose the Massachusetts wedding photographer chosen by many brides and grooms for their MA wedding! For your special Massachusetts wedding day, MA wedding photographer Eric Limon will photograph for your massachusetts wedding photography or MA wedding. For wedding photographers in Massachusetts choose Massachusetts photographer Eric Limon! sitemap
- showing up at the bottom of the Home page, I think this might be confusing for the average customer to look at wondering what it is about.

2) The Photo's I think are really well taken with great poses, etc.
3) I think you should have a more readily accessible link to your Scheduling Calender, possibly from the Home Page
4) I'm not trying to be a stickler but it also states " SPECIALIZING IN DOCUMENTARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY. SERVING ALL OF NEW ENGLAND, MASSACHUSETTS, NEW YORK, CONNECTICUT" ? Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island are also part of New England, do you cover these states as well? ...(I own my own business so I read contracts a lot so items like this Pop out at me....I'm not trying to be mean, rude or offensive)
5) Overall I like the web-site design. The music adds to the enjoyment of it....I'm not sure how the music would affect the loading speed. I'm assuming the photo's are saved at the lower file size (like DPC) to increase loading speed. I have High Speed cable, but I don't think it was too slow. The main thing is that I think the high quality and creative photo's that you take will sell themselves, and the Word of Mouth from your previous clients.

I like it except the first quote has "capturing" spelled "caturing".

Loads fast for me - Spell capturing correctly

On the about me page there is gibberish at the bottom of the page, also why does the tab for only that link read Connecticut Wedding photographer

the main page has the gibberish that CapeSail mentioned but aside from the about me page, none of the other pages has it.

on the initial openeing words "captured" has the p missing

also i dont know what they call that stuff at the bottom of the about me page, i believe it is made to get more hits for you on search engines, but it needs to be invisible tho i am no web developer so i have no idea how its done

that 'gibberish' is text designed to be picked up by search engines; it's a web-science termed 'search engine optimization', or seo. there are ways to make it work, but this is not the most elegant...

More text = better hits most of the time.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) text, should ONLY be in the meta tags. If you have it in random parts of the page, the engines now actually lower your page rank. It used to work in the old days, but the bots that index pages now actually are smarter and penalize sites for that. So besides looking ugly, it actually hurts the pages now. Use the meta tags (which you are) and then make a duplicate nav menu with standard text links at the bottom of the page. It will look better, and also get you a higher rating down the line.

I noticed that and was very glad someone DID. Perhaps correct spelling will rub off eventually.
Thank you!

Hey thanks for the insite! Anyone here do SEO for a living?

I know the gibberish sucks, but it actually helps quite a bit. I'll get it to look better soon.

Thanks for pointing out the "capture" spelling error! {that's embarrassing}

I made the link images much smaller... Hopefully the smaller sizes will allow it to load quicker.

Anyone have any ideas for the "portfolio" pages? I was thinking having one main page with the option of viewing the galleries either as HTML, Flash, or as a flash slideshow. But I'm not sure.

Thanks agan,
E

spotted a couple of bits
//www.maweddingphotographers.com/about.html
Your photo is being resized and made jaggy
in firefox the text "Photo taken by my 9 year old daughter, Rowan" is over the wedding photo - so she takes all the pictures then?

I presume you've used an automated gallery maker in Dreamweaver, it would be nice to replace the <<< and >>> text links with a simple arrow

//www.maweddingphotographers.com/weddings/testimonials.html
perhaps larger images would be nicer

include your contact number / email on all the pages (part of the footer?)

personally from an asthetic point of view changing the body font to geneva/arial rather than times/georgia would make it a lot cleaner to read, keep the font as is on the titles etc... though

oh, forgot add more images to your flash gallery! :)
