$19 for a movie and 400 freakin teenagers that should be shipped off to Iraq to clean soldiers boots, wouldn't stop talking and commenting and screaming at the top of their lungs ruining my evening and pissing me off! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

whew,I feel better.

Parents, please tell your children to shut up at the movies. Thank you.

Wait is this a rant...sorry.

I never go to the movies on Friday or Saturday nights for this reason. But then again, I'm old.

I guess I am old now too. I wish we could carry tazers so you could subdue teens when they are being obnoxious. The Teen Tazer.

AND - where's the remote in those places? I can never hit pause when my 64 oz of refreshing beverage clears the system - if you know what I mean!

DVD's are my friend

sorry, off topic - back to your regularly scheduled rant

what movie were you watching?
05/18/2007 11:35:07 PM · #6
Yeah, I go to the earliest showing I can on a weekday just to avoid all the morons.

But then, I used to be one of those teenagers, and not just the vanilla kind, I mean the kind that would bean you in the back of the head with a chewed on milk dud if you looked like you were a stodgy jerk, just to get a rise out of ya.

Lets not talk about the time with the slingshot :|

Disturbia Dang PG-13 freaking stupid dumb rating. Attracts those little buggers like ants to sugar.

My worst movie experience was King Kong. I went on a week night after it had been showing for a couple of weeks so it wouldn't be crowded. I sat through 3 freakin hours of it and right at the climax, this @#&*! three rows in front of me gets a call on his cell phone and stands up in front of me to answer it. He then goes on to talk for several minutes, all the while standing in front of me. I should've decked the guy, but I didn't want to be rude to the other people in the theatre.

I think you should be able to just taze them no questions asked.

Complain to the manager of the theater. Ask for a refund.

At this one theater here they put a "trailer" mixed in with the other trailers telling people to turn off their cell phones. Never works. They should also tell teenagers to shut up during the movie, but that wouldn't work either.

Last time we had a similar experience we complained to the manager. He was very apologetic and offered us free tickets to another show. We took them but haven't been back to a theater since. That was a few years ago. We're considering giving theaters one last chance with the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie but with pretty much one decent theater experience in the last decade it's a hard decision.

We usually go to the matinées. It's less expensive. The teenagers are in school, or, if you go on the weekend, they're still hung over.

Yup, go to the movies during the day. And on the weekends go to the restaurants that the teens can't afford.

Would love to do this when people are loud in the theater.

naw, that's proably for two, but it's more like $16 for a pair where I live.

I haven't been in a theatre in over 7 years. I have no idea how much it costs here, now.

What's the fun in not making a lot of noise.. *innocent look*
05/19/2007 02:06:02 AM · #23
I hate when we're sitting there and suddenly someone's fricken headlights are shining on the screen ruining the picture or someone going to the food stand just HAS to make images in the projector light...oh did I mention it's a drive in theater? It's the worst when some knuckle head accidently trips his alarm or panic button and can't get it off lol.

Last time I went to a sit down theater about 15 minutes in to the movie, 6-7 kids came running in and spread out in different areas and were being noisy. I jumped up and found a manager and they said they have been looking for them cause they are running from theater to theater. He came in but there were only about 3 left so he took them away.

It does frustrate me when they just can't sit and watch the movie, they are back and forth back and forth...yes I am also old, but i was also taught to be polite and keep my butt in the chair.

One word: Netflix

Wait until the movie comes out on DVD. It's cheaper and you can watch it in the comfort of your own home, pause whenever you want, and you can watch it again any time you want.
