Welcome back, Blue looks good on you.

As for being gone. It will be ok as long as the rest of us enter. The score is calculated by an average of the 4 highest scores in the challenge. So as long as every else participates it shouldn't matter. But sometimes when you are on vacation you get better shots. At least I know I do.

I don't mean to butt in but I saw your team on the list and thought I'd pop in here to mention that Divas doesn't have an apostrophe :) Not trying to be rude! Just don't want you to realise after you can't change the name anymore! :)

Thanks for the heads up on the apostrophy. Digital Divas sounds really good to me. I would not think the SAHM part would be essential. I think it was more important to ensure we have something in common before we joined, but now that we have our group maybe would could drop it? I am fine either way as I like all the suggestions.

Sorry, I will fix the Divas. You will notice as we go along that I am the worlds worst speller. These DP forums should have a spell check button.

I think we will stick with Digital Divas. I like how it sounds. Maybe we can add the SAHM thing into the Logo somehow.

I agree with the spell check. I am excited and ready to ROCK & ROLL!!!!

So I guess we have to wait to see what the challenge is? Will they have seperate challenges for the teams?
I am so ready to get started. I played around with the camera at the park today and got a few that were cute.
I think this one is one of my faves for today, but I still need to look at all of them.

How about you guys? Any recents? I thought we could use this time to get to know each other. That would be fun.

That picture is beautiful. Her eyes are amazing.

Maybe we should all introduce ourselves so we can get to know each other.

My name is Jennifer, I am a stay at home mom with 2 kids. Austin is 2 and Miranda will be 1 next week. We stay very busy. We live in Brooksville Florida. Which is just north of Tampa. We have been here for over a year now. I have been doing Photography since High School. Just recently I have been trying to get into the buisness end of it. I have always shot with film until December when I got my new camera. So I am still learning all the digital editing. I spend every minute I get in front of the computer working on pictures. Which some days is hardly nothing.

I am looking foward to the start of DPL. I think it will be the kick in the butt I need to get out there and shoot for more of these challenges.

These are a few quick pictures I took the other day. Nothing special but they are cute too me. We are going to the park today to I am going to see I can get them to hold still long enough to take some more pictures.

The children are beautiful. Love the pictures. My name is Calleen. As I stated when I requested to join the team, I am now a stay at home empty nester. My son is 24 and is a Lt. in the USMC. He is a pilot and flies CH53 Super Stallions. I have been in photography for as long as I can remember. I recieved my first digital camera about 5 years ago and it set in the box unopened for almost a year because I resisted it. I was trained in dark room skills and hoped for dark room equipment. Now I am addicted to digital. I just need to commit more time and am hoping this team will inspire me!!! Happy Mother's Day to all of you and sorry I rambled.

Here is another one from the other day. I have to work tonight, and will have some time then to write more abotu myself.

And Jennifer your kids are adorable. My brother lives in Brooksville, and I grew up in Tampa.

Wow, what a small world. Not many people are in Brooksville let alone have heard of it.
05/12/2007 11:19:21 PM · #36
Yes, it is kinda small. My brother is Bill Beasley. He works at a local print shop there. His wife is Julie and she works at a prison.

Ok, so a bit about me for introduction. I am 38, married 19 years. We have four kids, two boys and two girls. They are 17, 13 , 10 and 4. Boy, girl, boy, girl.
I am currently homeschooling my middle two 7th and 4th grade. The oldest was homeschooled his whole life and just entered college this quarter early. He has decided to take classes at the local college instead of homeschooling 12th grade.
I am a nurse, but right now I only work four days a month (two weekends) at a mental health hospital, so it is not really even part time.
Besides photography, I love to scrapbook and sew.
My husband used to be a full time pastor but got into developing two years ago, and is now building houses full time, which he loves.
MMMMmmm, what else? Oh, we live in Thomasville, Ga. It is a small town in South Georgia, so south, that we do most of our shopping in Tallahassee, Florida which is 20 miles South of Thomasville.
That's about it. I look forward to getting to know everyone. I think this will be really fun to work together and inspire each other with the challenges.

We are only about 3 hours away from each other then. We might have to plan a GTG sometime. We also plan on homeschooling the kids as they get older. Its nice to meet someone on this board that does as well. I know there are a few of us out there. (I remmember seeing a post some time ago).

I hope everyone is having a great day

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!!!

I'm sorry I didn't reply yet; I thought I had this forum set to email me replies, but I didn't.

Digital Divas will be fine. :)

I'm Rachel, age 32. I've been married for thirteen years, and I have two children, ages 11 and 7. We too are a homeschooling family. I live in the foothills in central California, just outside Yosemite National Park.

Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I'm looking forward to seeing what our first challenge for this DPL thing will be. :)

I have a bit of the same issue....I'll be out of country until the 28th of may....I can upload the pictures, but I don't have software editing which really bites for this challenge coming up.

Any ideas of site that let you do a good edit?

Also, I can't really check my mail, please post here is there are any team announcements.

Or should we start a 'Digital Diva' thread??

Don't mind me but I wanted to throw out a Good Luck to the stay at home moms from a stay at home dad. Good luck ladies!!!
05/15/2007 02:15:32 PM · #44
timfythetoo- Thanks!!! It is great to have a group of ladies with common interestes. We still have one alternate spot left. We would love to welcome a Stay at home dad. But I am betting you already have a team. :)

Veggie- We have our own private thread now. Go underleague at the top then Overview and there will be a link on the left hand side of the page. That is where we have been "hanging out"
05/15/2007 02:29:38 PM · #45
Just a friendly reminder, you should have a private team thread. If you are not seeing it at the top of the forum postings, go to "League">"Overview" and there will be a link to it in the upper left corner.

(Oh yea -- I'm on the Femme Fatales, BUT, I am a SAHM (most of the time) and homeschool my 5 yo son, and 2 yo daughter (when she is old enough)
05/15/2007 02:30:16 PM · #46
Sorry, I got called away before i posted. I wasn't trying to step on Jennifer. :)
05/15/2007 03:37:15 PM · #47
Thats ok. There is also the link to the private thread right on themain page. I think that is much easier to find. I shouldhave posted that instead of the other way.

Its nice to know there areother SAHMs on this board. There are a lot of us that homeschool as well.
