I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED!

they could have cut out about 45 minutes and it would have been a decent film. but when he started with the jazz hands, i went to refill my popcorn.

here's hoping spidey 4 is better. :)

I agree, when Dunst started singing I was starting to cry :(

its good but not great, I liked how they showed parkers personality change while in the black suit lol that was great... I also enjoyed the spidey and venom fight. It was a nice suprise near the end with green goblin. Never saw that coming..but I wish they showed more of venom and that the fight was longer.

But I dont think there is going to be another one (or a siderman 4), the kid that plays parker does not want to do it anymore. I think thats kind of why they cramed so much into this one. I also feel that they rushed venom into this movie but again thats cause their may not be another one (spiderman 4).

Kind of sucks cause I love spiderman, ever since I was a kid also have some really old spidey comics

Found it a pretty cool film, I think this should be the end and not having a follow-up.. wouldn't do spidy any good I think :)

I WAS SOOOOO DISAPPOINTED!!!!!
The movie wasn't a disaster but it was weak as hell! "evil" peter parker was a joke. Sam Raimi fell into the misconception that "bigger is better" when it's not. What was up with Sandman being as big as the marshamallow man for the ghostbusters? And some of the script writing was horrible!

I don't think they should continue anymore.

Edit: Did i mention that I'm a loyal Spider man fan? I love Spiderman! but this was disappointing after a wonderful Spider-man 2

Spiderman 4, 5 & 6 have been confirmed
05/07/2007 05:12:48 PM · #11
Script was bad, ok! but its pretty amazing that they had to juggle 3 bad guys, a love triangle, and add even more without making it too chaotic. It had a solid structure.

now, if they already killed venom, whats the point of 4,5 & 6???

It was the worst Spiderman yet, that "cool" dance scene was so bad and felt like it was part of some other movie, and the end turned into a cry fest. People in the audience started laughing when everyone burst into tears.

bah

I was following right along, but when Eddie Brock got those 'amazing' up-close telephoto pictures with his Nikon D?? and kit lens, the movie lost all realism for me ; )

All I want to know: Is there more fighting than crying in this movie?

I loved the first movie, but was very disappointed with the second one. 15 minutes of action in the entire movie. Granted, I loved the "Spiderman stops the speeding train" scene, but the rest of the movie was a cryfest.

Boohoo, Peter doesn't love me. Boohoo, Mary Jane doesn't love me. Boohoo, I can't be Spiderman anymore. Boohoo, it's my fault Uncle Ben died. Boohoo, no it's my fault Uncle Ben died. -- Just stop crying and fight somebody, dangit!

I was hoping for a very actiony 3rd movie, but it doesn't sound like I'll get it.

I felt the ending was to rushed. It was dissapointing to me.

If you didn't like #2 (the best of the 3) don't even see this one.

Thank you, that's basically what I wanted to hear. When we walked out of #2, my wife said, "wow, that could be a Lifetime movie." I want action in my superhero movies, leave the melodrama to the chick-flicks.

it was a D50 (you could see in a closeup and, yes, i am that nerdy.)

but what killed me was the sound effect. not only did you hear the mirror snap, but you could hear film advancing every time he took a shot.

i expect REALISM in my movies about a person who has the characteristics of a spidera, dammit!

ETA: it was a D50 with the kit lens, even. :)

My 6 y/o liked it, but ya, it was WAY too long with lots of needless dramatics. Kirsten Dunst's character is such a tramp (and not in a good way either) and I can't stand watching her or her character. I know Peter Parker is kind of a goof, but he seems like he'd be smart enough to see through her BS. The jazz bar/dance scene was like something out of "The Mask" with Jim Carrey, or did Joel Schumaker direct that scene? :-) I thought the effects were entertaining enough, but like a lot of movies, just how much ass-kicking can a person (or superhero for that matter) take?

OMG i thought EXACTLY the same thing. i kept flashing back to uma thurman in green dish gloves as poison ivy.

and is it just me, or was anyone else completely distracted by kirsten dunst's teeth? they were almost venom-like. :)

Thinking the same thing too. I think they forgot to remove the caps on her teeth from "Interview With a Vampire." :-)

It's not even the script that was bad but rather the character development. The subtitle of the movie is 'the battle within the soul' or something of the sort. Where is the battle? I didn't really see it. It's obviously there but it's not explicit and therefore makes it seem as if the script writer/director or whoever is a rookie at script writing and showing character development.

I also hated the end scene with the sand man. Why was he the size of the marshmallow man and lost his capacity to speak and basically looked life a mindless ogre? What was cool with the green goblin and Doc Oc was that they had a human aspect to them and therefore the audience could relate to them and either feel pity for them or not. But the moment a bad guy is a huge monster it isn't "realistic" anymore and viewers can't relate to him anymore.

Also, Venom. So Eddie gets the suit and that's it? He's in fool control, knows how the suit works etc? The green goblin and Doc Oc had a time period where they had to establish their new persona. Osbourn talking to the mirror and DOc Oc talking to the arms. Venom had none of that. He got the symbiont and voila? Lame.

The dance scene was horrible. Tobey McGuire couldn't pull it off. It was to awkward looking. And his script when he was an "emo" kid was really bad.
I won't get to more details cause I have to get back to work, but all in all, the movie wasn't a flop but I was disappointed!

edit: had a solid structure? what's a solid structure? I thought the movie was slow and unbalanced. I never really got into it.
