You may ... discuss challenge entries with team members, via email, PM, or in your teams forum thread, as long as all post-processing is done by yourself.

:o)

So, we can see our teammates photos, and/or discuss them in ou Semi-Private forums.

Site Council can view all our Team Forums (Photos/discussions) prior to submitting them.

If this is true
, How can there be a "Site Council" team exist?
Wouldn't they have some UNFAIR ADVANTAGE???

I refer you to general question 10 of the DPL FAQ :o)

EDIT: there are several SC who aren't involved in a DPL team, so if any SC who feels a conflict of interest in moderating the threads doesn't have to, so it shouldn't be an issue. Whatever you might think, the SC are a fairly honest and respectable bunch, and we put in too much time to the site to do something as silly as abuse our positions...

not to mention that every SC is not on a team.

So to NOT have an unbiased advantage, the Team Smite, should NOT be able to see other teams discussions and/or Photo submissions.
just inquiring.

Likely just a cache issue, I verified that images were being overwritten. I've set it so the image shouldn't pull from cache on the team creation page.

Done.

There seem to be a bug as well when we add new team members.

Regarding the invitations, your suggestion makes perfect sense. I'll get it implemented, but likely not this week.

As far as adding someone from the pool -- all that happens when you click the "Add" button from the pool listing, is that it auto-populates the user's usernames in the text boxes on the create page. You will still need to click `Save Team Configureation` after using the add from pool button.

Thanks, now I understand how it works.

"5 - What happens at the end of the first 6 weeks of the season?
After the first 6 weeks, all the teams in each division will have played matches against the other teams. The team with the most wins (and highest average of Team Scores in the case of a tie) is the winner of that division, and will go into the playoffs."

Maybe I'm too sleepy, but if there are 6 teams in each division, only 5 weeks are necessary to play each other? Or maybe I'm missing something?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. SC's team is more of a fun thing I think. You don't see SC winning ribbons week in and week out, why worry about them cheating here?

I have full confidence in their integrity.

I don't know if anybody has said this yet...but why are there 99 people in the free agent pool. Why don't people start making teams...just make a name up and start picking people. If you want to be on a team don't just put your name in there and think you'll be picked. There are only 5 days left. Start a team, it's not that big of a deal, and with the team pages coming soon it will be so easy to keep your team up to date. So make a team and grab some players from the pool...and lets shrink that number down.

Week 1 = signups week :o) Week 2 is when the season proper starts.

And just to be explicitly clear, Week 2, when the season starts, is just entries or competition already? In other words, do DPL Album Cover and the Opens tonight count in the first head-to-head matchups?
05/08/2007 12:13:35 PM · #112
Nope, the challenges announced next week are the first to count.

I have confidence in their integrity, too. An SC person gives up a lot of their time policing and keeping forum talk in line with the rules. I'm always proud to see such dedication.

I just see it as an unfair-advantage of seeing the competitors photos beforehand. That is a fact, whether they consciously use the info they are privy to or not.

On another note. I am really excited and gratefull to allowing teams work as team.
Having the full benefits of teamwork.
Such as sharing skills, knowledge-learning, and coming up with team strategies(photo-ideas).

This allows the benefit of MORE, well needed comments, on many photos.

Whenever I hit a "vein of gold", it is sometimes hard to decide among a handfull of possible photos to submit.

Sorry, Manic, but I insist:

"8 - How long does a season last?
- Week 1: The season is announced, the free agent pool opens, and team captains can begin to create their teams.
- Week 2: The teams are automatically placed into divisions, divisions automatically placed into conferences, and conferences automatically placed into leagues.
- Week 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7: The regular season season begins with the first challenge announced."

That means 1 week for signing up and 6 more weeks (till 7th) for the competition.
But I'm sure it's me and my sleepyness...LOL

Week 7 is the final week of voting, but the challenges then are redundant.

i'm going to go out on a limb and say that we'll be doing pretty darned good if we just have our own act together. i don't know that i'd be able to keep up with just my team, let alone 73 other discussion threads and 500ish other entries for each challenge.

heck, most of the time i barely get my 20% vote in. :)

You know I thought about that last night. It's the after effect. After all the challenges you see everyone else's and think CRAP I should have done that. Well that's what I see here. Not saying that SC's are cheaters but it would give them an idea of what everyone else is doing and allow them time to change the idea a little.

again...i think you guys are giving us far too much credit.

trust me. there is plenty to do in a normal day without using our super secret powers for evil (/me puts his hands over his horns.). honestly, the novelty wears off rather quickly.

Wanted to clear this up, as the previous explanations were innacurate. There are indeed 6 weeks of regular seasons rounds. This is made possible by the fact that for the DPL, teams do NOT play within their divisions. I need to get a visual up in the FAQ for how the leagues, conferences, and divisions will be laid out, in addition to how the schedule will go.

Uh, why not? I thought that was the point.

Wooot.

I'm in the pool now.

I feel like I'm in high school waiting for a captain to pick me for their team! HAha.

Just start a team...there are far too many people in there already. If you reall want to particapate in the first DPL I suguest you make it happen or you will be sitting on the side lines. Not saying anything about anyones photography ability just that there isn't that much time and far too many people to choose from.
