Just thought I'd share a bit of fascinating information concerning a really neat utility I found on the Internet. If any of you have ever accidentally or intentionally deleted photos from your digital camera media and wondered if you could recover them, the answer is yes. Some of you may already know about this free software, but for those of you who don't, just thought I'd pass it along. I accidentally deleted a wonderful photo from my memory stick and was so upset when I realized it. I began to research the Internet for a way to recover it and found out about something called "PC Inspector Smart Recovery 4.0" by Convar. It is freeware, and very much worth the download! It claims to recover deleted photos from any digital camera media. Once installed on your computer, it will scan your digital camera media for all files, those still on the media and those deleted. The key element though is that it will recover those that have been deleted but not yet written over. If you delete photos from your media, but haven't yet filled up the media again, it will recover those remaining deleted photos that haven't been written over by a new photo. I downloaded it and gave it a try, and 'presto', my deleted photos were found and recovered from my Memory Stick! You can find this software at this link: //download.com.com/3000-2242-10066144.html

Man, a few months ago I did that & was kicking myself. I scoured the internet for something free & didnt find it. I finally ahd to buy Photorecovery for $40. I was glad I did it until now. It does however recover info even after formatting which is cool.

I'll pass th einfo on though to save others from actually having to buy software.

It was a relief to find I could actually recover a photo after having deleted it. In my opinion, this is a "must have" utility for any digital photographer, and the nice part is...it's FREE!

Just wanted to mention that one of the reviews I read about it claims that it will recover photos from cards that have even been re-formatted.... just choose File, Settings, Intensive Mode.

One of my Lexar CF cards came with recovery software on the CF card. I had saved the software to my PC but never installed it until a couple of days ago. My wife's SD card was failing in her camera and was generating 'cannot read' errors using the card reader on the PC. The recovery software found all of my wife's photos, PLUS a bunch of photos I had put on that card a long time ago when I was using a P&S (recovered 140 images total). I then used the recovery software to reformat the SD card and all is well! :)

Yeah.. Pretty awesome though, how windflow cared enough about this to create an account, and post this post on a six year old thread, just to make absolutely sure that the OP was helped out. (never mind that they recovered the data years ago...)

Oh. Wait.... That does sound pretty unlikely doesn't it? ;)
