I have always prided myself in having a great sense of humour, but found this drivel rather boring. To each his own I guess.

On the Alec Baldwin question:

It's Reality vs. Make Believe. It's the same reason the rapping granny in The Wedding Singer is funny - generational anachronism.

Everyone knows the little girl was being coached just off camera. No one was being mean to her. There's nothing to rage against.

Some of the best humor out there is a bit off color. The best example that comes to mind immediately is the classic "Word Association" skit from Saturday Night Live. Inappropriate and wildly, hysterically funny.

I LOVE that skit even though I was only 3 when it aired and in spite of the fact the racism is quite wrong.

I have it on vinyl. I was about 2 months old when it aired. :-)

That is a classic skit, and so is the rapping granny, but they are all adults. The only issue I have is teaching a 2 or 3 year old to cuss (very cruel and offensive). Is that make believe? Seems real to me.

simply because it's the difference of being hilarious...and being a complete "jerk" (for lack of a better word) to your daughter.
Pearl probably won't remember any of it when she's older anyways :)
