First entry - Fauna. Well how was I supposed to know DPC folk aren't partial to cats? Actually I think there was a lot of room for improvement even for a "cat shot." Having 4 cats I do take a lot of pics of them so its not like I won't get any practice. Hedgehogs seem to get a better reception tho'

( At rest challenge) This was my lowest (so far) I thought it was pretty cute and fit the challenge in a creative funny way. I think I could have skipped the border, but still it was not THAT bad. :)

I still can't believe this did worse than my "Abstract Screwdriver Handles" from the Yellow challenge...

"Retro Girl" was my entry for "The Past" and came in at a whopping 4.667... I took a break from DPC not long after this one but I'm back this week and watching my score go down and down and... :)

My worst performance, from the "Monuments" challenge. 4.742, but worse than that 89/96, only 7 places out of dead last. I certainly didn't think it was THAT bad. LOL.

This is my lowest shot (so far), I really like it, but it was misunderstood so it unfortunately flopped in voting :-/

Shame - It is a nice photo. All those bright leaves on the ground, the dejected slump of your shoulders, the gentle frame of the swing structure. It all speaks to having moved beyond childhood, thinking back. Good work!

Here is my lowest scoring photo -- ranking 113 out of 115.

To me, it is so rare to see a family with teenagers together on a small non-motorized boat on Saturday afternoon idling the day away. I think it is almost unheard of! With that, I imagined life before motor boats, speed and technology - and thought this was probably what life was like in the 1920s.

While I felt the past, my photo certainly didn't convey the message and I see that now. Live and learn : )

I've experienced almost all that DPC has to offer. A first place entry, a third place entry, and a last place entry with this doosy of a 'photo':

I entered on a dare. Silly me.

Well, I've only entered 5 challenges, so I'm pretty sure I don't really count in this...but here it is anyway.

This was "Opposite Reaction" for the liquid challenge which scored 2.901 and was 198 out of 202! I learned I should have given it a better title so voters would realize it fit the challenge (oil and vinegar). Oh well, with every challenge you learn something:)

This is the one with the lowest score in my profile...

As it should be, it really sucked.

You're sick. Really sick. May a rabid goat urinate in your cheerios.

;-)

My lowest was my glass entry at 4.511. I was trying to get the beads spilling from a jar, but fought with reflections off the jar. Removed the jar and tried macro. Then time ran out...

Interestingly, it was just recently selected as a favorite. Thanks, Szuszu! :-)

Ya know, last place isn't so bad. Not exactly where I'd like to be again anytime, but I lived through it. I guess.

It does meet the challenge (I don't care what the voters and commenters say), but I do concede that it is a bad picture.

My lowest scoring photo is still my first, hurried entry:
Diablo Contrail

My lowest ranking photo somehow placed 201/199 entries (I thought there wasn't any negative scoring?):

Dudes!

How do you insert a thumbnail of apic from prior challenges?
12/02/2003 12:08:49 AM · #47
Go to your profile -- put the mouse over the name of the entry. Somewhere in the browser window is the URL to the picture; at the end is an ImageID number.

When you are writing a post, the top-right button is to "Insert Thumbnail" -- enter the ImageID number (just the digits) into the text field you get, click OK and you're done. The thumbnail tags will be translated into the actual code needed once you post.

Okay, I'm dense. I put the mouse over the name & got nothing. Where is the browser window?

Okay, I think I got it! Thanks for hookin' it up!
It scored a 3.7, my first entry.

The challenge was alone and I thought for sure everyone would know what a row home was and this was the last standing on the block because of the highway and the train rail going by. Little did I know! It is very over saturated though.
