The family and I went to the store today. My youngest son and wife went in to pick up a few things while my oldest son and I remained in the car. He wanted something to drink and went to drink machine on the sidewalk next to the store. Parked up against the curb near the drink machine was a large truck with a man (maybe in his 30’s) sitting in the drivers seat. Since I was parked close to the store I could see my son and his truck with no obstructions. He, the man in the truck, was shining a laser pointer on my sons back and the drink machine while he was getting his drink. It made my son mad because it was flickering in his eyes. When he got back to the car he told me about it and said the man was laughing.

To make a long story short, when my wife and other son returned to the car I backed out of my parking place and drove over to the mans truck. His driver side window and mine were facing each other. I let my window down to say something to him but he had that cocky grin look on his face. So I picked up my camera, turned it on, a popped him with a very bright flash from only about three feet away. Then I gave him a cocky grin, I don’t think he could see it since his pupils look like pinholes, and drove away.

Felt good!

Sounds justified to me!

I was being stalked through a parking lot in St. Augustine one day by a woman in a car, the woman wanted my parking spot but wasn't happy with the speed at which I was walking to it so honked at me. I stopped in place, turned around and shot a great pic of her angry face right through her windshield. Then continued to my car slowly! :P

do we get to see said "Laser Man"? Probably a nice dumb founded look on his face lol.

As for justified or not...well he could have blinded your son easier than you could him with your flash, so who knows. Good thing he didn't try and pursue you or something like that. He would have proof you did it, acutally YOU would have proof you did it, but no real proof he did what you and our son say. Since no one got hurt I'm sure both parties would just get slap on the wrist if the police were to get involved in any way.

I didn't get a pick of him, I wish I would of. I just raised the camera up enough to get the flash over the door. I didn't want him to see what was coming...
Man I wish I would of raised it enough to catch his face. That would of been a goooooood candid.
Live and learn :(

the laser pointer man was an idiot, but since nobody's hurt in the incident (except bruised ego?) maybe you should have just let it be. flashing him like that might be regarded as picking a fight in my part of the world - it could get you AND your family hurt (or your car)

There is a picture but it of the lens cap. I didn't take the lens cap off. I just turned on the camera, popped the flash and pressed the shutter. Camera was in the M-mode. If you want to see that pic I can upload :)

Okay, since Scott didn't get an actual shot, here's a simulation. Full flash in a dark room from about 3 inches:

Darkened in processing, if you can believe it!

Not really but maybe he will think the next time he wants to play with a laser pointer.

You should post it! I bet it'd be a great candid.

Hehe... I wonder what his reaction would have been if you aimed a laser pointer back at him... mounted on top of a rifle?

At my school when a kid is mean to another and the other kid retaliates, we call that “natural consequences”. Seems to me truck driver experienced a little retribution.

Would be even funnier if the rifle were actually a squirt gun and you hit him with it AFTER he peed his pants :P
