I am reaching out to my friends and fellow photographers and asking for your prayers and positive thoughts.

About a month ago I started to have some really bad headaches, to make a long story story short after a series of tests and scans I have been diagnosed with a brain tumor specifically on my pituatary gland.

The pituitary is a pea-sized organ in the center of the brain above the back of the nose. It makes hormones that affect other glands and many body functions. Most pituitary tumors are benign (not cancer). My tumor is about the size of a golf ball.

The hard thing is my tumor is causing constant headaches and some vision loss, so I have opted to have surgery to have it removed because I am no loger allowed to drive my car or work at my day job. My surgery is scheduled for next Thursday April 19th.

I am asking for your prayers and positive thoughts during my surgery and after care, recovery time is 4 to 6 weeks post surgery. I apologize for the depressing story but I really need support right now, thanks for taking the time to listen.

Pray that it goes well and the surgeon gets the entire tumor and after 4-6 weeks this will all just be a bad dream and another life story to tell.

Wishing you all the best for your surgery mate and the best thing to do now is to relax yourself, try some YOGA and meditation (Im not joking Im serious it's VERY good for mind/body/soul)

I feel totally positive that we will soon have you back snapping away like a trojan warrior.

Bob, many prayers to you for a speedy recovery. It's comforting to hear that it is operable and are able to remove it. From what I've read, some brain tumors are inoperable due to being in an extremely delicate area. Also, keep comfort in knowing that brain tumors rarely metastasize, and do not spread throughout the body like other tumors. Keep your spirits high, and please keep us informed of how you're doing.
