Anyone have any ideas on this Money Challenge? Without being too specific could someone explain what they expect? I have a picture but it might be slightly off topic.

Wish I had a Money Cat.

Check with a Site Council member. Maybe they could tell you if it's on-theme or not.

Thanks Jen.

I got some ideas from money literalisms - "your money or your life," "money can't buy me love," "Brother can you spare a dime?" "Saving for a rainy day," "deep pockets." "Born with a silver spoon in his mouth." Got me thinking anyway. There are lots of things associated with money in a visual way, that are not money. Hope it helps.

Some good ideas there. Thanks.

I am going on using a show of wealth to symbolize money.
11/30/2003 04:44:27 PM · #8
A show of wealth is good and if you live near Fort Knox that would be good. LOL! I think anything that symbolizes money would be fine. I have a few ideas but I haven't taken a picture yet and don't know if I will have time. How about any place you get money out of or put it into? Any item that symbolizes money to you.

How about a picture of my children -- that's where all my money goes ;)

I’m thinking I would use_____to convey____and I would throw some of ____in for good measure so everyone would see clearly the topicality. Think it’s a good idea?

brilliant! Why didn't I think of that?

To late 'adine' it’s my idea. Don’t try to steal it, OK? :)

And I thought I was slightly ambiguous...

I wanted to set up a cool poker table shot with lots of poker chips piled high in the middle - with outstretched arms pulling it all in to an anonymous player. (as if he/she just won the pot!)

But alas, no time. Feel free to use the concept if you think it might work...

I was thinking of something like that Ten, but since my still life didn't even manage to score a 5, I figured I'd be better off with something else. ;)

EDIT: Funny thing was, with 8 comments, no one mentioned that the Ace was upside down.

I haven't done anything about it yet, but I've been thinking about picturing objects that only rich people can afford (you'd think - "MONEY!" - when you saw it in public). I guess the opposite could work, too, if an appealing photo can be made of a subject depicting severe lack of money.
Good luck! I'm not there yet, and I've only got 5 hours of daylight left...

I sat out the Soft Focus, I have a photo that is stretching it but what the ----, I’m going with it anyway. I really like the shot and want everyone to see it and it will be fun to see what people think. Folks, only 3hours and a half to go…

Thanks for all the help

Just finished mine! whew... didn't think I'd get it done in time.

I submitted mine yesterday but I'm not hoping for high scores this time - I was quite adventurous (sp?) on it and I'm not sure how people will think of it.

Made it with about 25 minutes to spare. I had so many ideas for this one but only got to act on one!

I'm feeling pretty proud of this one if I do say so myself! ;)

I lent my camera to a good friend, a really good firend so I couldnt enter this challenge. I am, however, really looking forward to seeing the entries for this challenge. Just hanging out & waiting for 12am to check things out!

Good luck to all those who did enter!

I'm sittin' the sidelines on this one. Creative juices failed to flow. Not too broke up about it, I'm getting beat up badly enough in "soft focus" to last me a month, LOL.

I just entered 2 minutes left....that was close

I'd guess that they just didn't read the challenge description.
