well, ive started to notice the last few picutres ive been taking are over exposed. checking out the cam i see that when i have it on aperture priority and i am outside(high shutter speed) the shutter speed on the top display doesnt match the one that the cam is actually doing (whats displayed when you look through the lens). i went outside and it said 1000 on the top display but when i look through the lens it displays 1/80 and takes the shot at 1/80. but when i am in low light they seem to match. i looked through all the menus and everything is fine. any ideas?

the d80 is known to over expose because of it defective metering system. All you have to do is set the +/- button to -0.7 and it should fix the problem. (you only have to do this once unless you reset it).
Hold down the +/- button on the top and turn the rear dial two clicks to the right to get this setting. I had to do it with mine. Works fine now.
