Hello everyone!

I'm in much need of some help with a specific wedding photo of mine. I love the shot, but the lighting is horrible. Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to set up the camera for the person taking the picture (b/c I'm the bride), but I love the picture.

Can some of you that are fantastic with Photoshop (I don't have it), help me to see if we can get this photo to at least be usable?

Thanks a bunch in advance!!!!!

I'm not as good as others here I'm certain, but at first glance and with a quick fix - here is what I came up with. But hopefully this will give you a good idea if it's fixable??!! The full size image would be better also.

How about something like this:

Definitly useable. There are far better Photoshop experts here besides me but here is a try.
If you get no response feel free to email me the original and I will do something but again I am a bit of a hack.

A couple of quick edits. Not the best due to the size of the original. Not sure how these edits would look at full size though. Beautiful Bride. :)

Thank you very much - I'm the bride!

I'm a bit concerned b/c when I went back to see about the size of the photo (original), it's showing only a 300kb file. I'm not sure what my mother did (she's the one who took the picture). I have a couple of one that I tried to edit in Picasa and those edited ones are about 800 to 900kb if you think it would be better to work off one of those???

Not bad with such a small file.

Let's try this and see if the larger file will help any. THis is one that I edited and saved in Picasa2.

Are you using the Thumbnail button at the top of the post box? I think the first one didn't show up because there was a space before the number. Not sure about this one though.

Oh man, I didn't even realize that there's a link to the full size version. I was working off the smaller version that shows up in the portfolio. DUH!

Thanks!

Maybe the larger file will help some! :) I hope so b/c I'd like to be able to print it up on a larger scale (maybe 8 x10 or 11 x 14).

Just a quick edit:

(could do so much more with an image that didn't
have so much image compression / jpeg artifacts)

I understand and agree with you there!

Thanks for the help,
Marjorie

Marjorie,
Feel free to send me a PM with your email if you want a larger version of it, unless you already have one.

Thanks, Brad. I just did - I must have been PMing you when you sent this!

Editing the larger image and trying something different from my first edit, I added a bit of sepia to it. I've also emailed the full size version back to you.

I had another go with the full size of the first post (the really dark one). This is a scaled down sfw version but I have the fullsize saved on my PC. I can email it to you if you like. :)

Wow! Much, much better - thanks! Yes, I'd love for you to email it to me. My email address is sweetmissbehaving@gmail.com

Thanks again!!! :)

Here's a shot at it. It doesn't have Jen's warming touch-ups and there is still a lot of specular highlights and grain in some of the areas but it may give you a different way to go with it. I agree that you're a lovely, photogenic bride. Congrats on your wedding. Looks like it was a wonderful setting for a lifetime of memories.

Great job, Jen. Missin' you guys and especially missing shooting lately. Maybe sometime this summer . . .
:)
