And to each their own, right? I don't watch violent movies with blood and guts flying everywhere. If I rented one because I didn't know any better, I simply turn it off and move on.

I like psychological thrillers that have me chewing my nails over what might happen next, and there are some great movies around like that - very little gore, but tons of tension.

The others just make my stomach do flip flops and give me nightmares.

If people can be protected from the terror of seeing a bit of skin, surely I can be protected from all this far too graphic violence.

I agree! So horror is another genre of art, like it or not. You don't like horror novels - don't read them. Don't like horror movies - don't watch them. The argument that they just don't "belong" is rather narrow minded. A horror gallery seems ideal in that it showcases those who delve into it, and "protects" those who shy away from it.

Oh absolutely, I guess I kinda strayed from the original post, which was, lets have a horror (or whatever you name it) gallery, then one could choose to not view pics, just like nudes or whatever.. I totally agree, If you don't want to view these, then they shouldnt appear on your pc.. Fair enough.. :)

Can we add a gallery for maternity shots please?

Can we add a gallery for horror shots please?

Looks like the same ground to me.

Why can a gallery be created for the darker photography? Not everyone wants to see blood work, or scary or whatever. Seriously can someone just for one finally get the balls to tell me?

So you got your hand slapped in the form of a warning. Forget the fact that you were poked a bit. Maternity pics could also be submitted into other galleries don't you think? Portraiture comes to mind. Silly argument really.
Since no one has answered you, let me give it a try. I'd love to be proven wrong but It'll probably be a cold day in hell before you get a horror gallery. Why? Simple really... Can you spell Vanilla? One day I hope the powers that be accept that in order to be a truly legitimate photography site, it's important to encourage expression in all forms... within the law of course.
it's a little bit funny, you can find at least 6 currently running threads on Christianity but don't dare ask for a legitimate genre gallery on a photography site.

What does my hand slapping have to do with the prices of dirt in the Africa? Poked at a bit?

Seriously Qart what are you talking about?

Although you wrote many words you said nothing. Least nothing that pertains to what I am asking for. Mostly because you Are not SC or 'the powers that be'

No one can answer the question except them, because they are the ones NOT creating the gallery.

calm down little,

he was just saying that as no one had answered your question he was going to try.

basically, what he is saying is that. This site will never have a horror gallery as it is too graphic for a place like this.

Little, you have been poked and proded by jibes on this thread and being defensive right now is forgivable as I am sure it seems that any answer right now could be a jab at you.

just chill a tad bit

I have always hated that expression. 'Chill'

Ya know, if the 'Powers that Be' just had the balls to come on the thread say NO, I would politely submit a ticket to remove my account and be on my way. But the pure utter silence is stupid. No way in hell it takes months to deliberate over this topic.

Well, I am sorry that you are not getting what you want.

Maybe if you wanted an answer from the SC or more importantly the creator and the person that actually has control on what galleries you wanted, you should bring it up with them then and not on here. As it would seem that whatever anyone says right this moment is not going to be the right thing for you.

Sorry edited for a wrong word

littlegett..you need to settle down. This honestly and truly fell off our radar. In the last few months we created a better way to keep track of website change requests, that's why recent requests get done faster..we see them, we put them into the system. You've brought this one up again, we see it, we're putting it into the system. Doesn't mean you'll get it, but we see you, and we're taking you seriously. ok?

fwiw - i *hate* being called "the powers that be". We're just a bunch of volunteers.

1. My warning did not have any names attached to it. It was intended for anyone who was straying into the personal attack area. And it was said good-naturedly.

2. Yes, maternity photos and portraiture could be placed in other galleries but having them separated makes searching for a specific photo easier. The more we can separate the photos, the easier they are to find when someone needs them,

3. As for the powers that be...if you're talking about the SC we have no ability to create new galleries. We can recommend but that's all. I would love to see a Horror gallery and said so when this thread was first created.

4. I can't even imagine what Christianity threads (which anyone can start) has to do with a asking for a new gallery. No idea where that is coming from. I love horror stuff of all kinds and I'm a Christian so I can't see what one has to do with another.

And if it wasn't meant as humor, consider this a first warning about personal attacks.

No, I was personally called out. and I will not answer one way or another which it was.

1. Actually I was defending your position. I can see it wasn't very clear after reading what I wrote. What I was trying to say was that you were warned about a comment you made but IMO were baited. You have a valid request and I think you should have been taken a bit more seriously.

2. Hey Sher... the comment wasn't about your warning. There was one much earlier on. :)

3. I don't consider SC as 'the powers that be'.

Much thanks and Love for making the gallery. A year in waiting but highly appreciated.

I wondered where that gallery came from!! :)

I also don't watch horror movies, but I must admit a morbid fascination for Andrew's work lol

I am glad there is now a place for everyone to put their "scary" images... I might add "Dangerous Liasions" to that one, as most people found it "horrific" that I tried to communicate BAD in that way. hahaha

Congratulations on your request being granted, Andrew! :)

Well I am thinking of putting a pretty flower in there, just to scare the crap out of Little, I am sure that would be his nightmare

hahahah

The squeaky wheel gets the grease, even if it sometimes takes a year. I still think the term "horror" could have been a less specific word such as grotesque or macabre. (Yes, littlegett, I saw your explanation of why those terms don't work for you, but then, it's not your personal gallery). :-P
