Ah, I get it now - He's been suspended for having the worst website on the Internet.

he was suspended not baned. I don't know why (but would like to) but if you get dq'd too much you can get suspended for a length of time but you can come back. there are other reasons it could happen as well.

you gotta like how the top of his webpage is a copy of the DPC menus complete with the copyright notice.

i'm not in the know, but i would guess it would have something to do with his run of DNMC comments and 1's in the fruit & veggie challenge recently. got quite a bit of dander up, if i recall...

this is, of course, just conjecture...

Just why is whiterook so popular? This is the second thread I've seen him mentioned in.

It looks like too many DQs in just a few challenges. I say good ridadnce to him too. His constant efforts to take bad photos insults those of us that attempt to leave constructive comments and critiques. The longer he stays away the better as far as I am concerned.

What is up with all the comments he left on the Fruit & Vegetable challenge? I don't get it.

I see one from December 2006, don't think that's it (unless current ones in voting got DQ'd).

I'd guess this is more likely to be a potential issue.

did you notice that the links are the same as dpchallenge's also other than saying comcast instead: //home.comcast.net/community_index.php Is he somehow linking into DPC so he can see what's going on without actually coming here? weird.

No. As noted previously, he simply has the Internet's worst website.

My bad. I was looking at his and another last night. I got the two confused as I sometimes do. Either way, we have a break from his antics. Let's enjoy it.

That's a hell of a thing to say. Whatever type of photographs he chooses to take (or not take) constitutes no insult to any of our efforts whatsoever. He may have been called to task for his comments but he's paying his penance for that. The man is NOT in the normal DPC mold for sure, but there's no need to bad-mouth him like this. I find him an interesting and likable guy, myself :-)

I tend to agree with you. He has a very unique approach to photography, and one day I'll make the effort to ask him about it.
