I have had several people ask questions about my ice challenge entry. They're just general questions about the photo, like where it was taken. Am I permitted to answer those questions during the voting phase or do I need to wait until voting is over? I'm wondering if it would be okay to PM those people privately. Thanks!

When people ask me these questions in comments during voting, I usually PM them back and answer. I've never had a negative response to that yet.

And sometimes I ask questions in my comments in photos, and usually get an answer back, which I appreciate, because by the time the challenge is over, sometimes I've forgotten that I asked the question with having looked at and voted on so many entries. I like getting an answer while the photo is still fresh on my mind, after having had it impact me enough to want to know more.

I say answer away :)

Thanks for the input everyone. I'll PM those who asked the questions.

Doesn't that take out the whole staying anonymous during voting part of the challenge? It seems like if you're not allowed to talk about what picture is yours on the forums you shouldn't be able to tell people what picture is yours on pm. I personally don't really care either way, but I think the best thing about these challenges are that they're anonymous while voting's going on so that your score isn't impacted by how many contacts you have or how many friends you've made. If you're pm'ing people about your picture while votings going on, that's no longer anonymous. (Sorry if this comes out hard to read, I'm on a blackberry)

I think it really doesn't matter. If they're asking a question in a comment, they have most likely already voted on the photo.

I guess if you know that someone doesn't care for you much, it might be a good idea to keep quiet though ;-)
