It appears the commenter is grading the biology subject/experiment/project, etc... rather than the photo, so I wouldn't sweat it. :P

no sweat, i just wondered; over here the grades count from 1 (very good) to 6 (bad) or from 15 to 1 point-
i guess C+ must than be a 4 or 5 points?

I used a friendly ole School Days grading system for the Biology challenge and it was fun for me. I have graded all 131 students and here is your grades from me. Remember this was my fun, and only one person's opinion of what I observed and this teacher graded your biological submission. :)

F = 1-2
D = 3-4
C = 5-6
B = 7-8
A = 9-10

How important is image title in voting?

Didn't you already ask this earlier?

The title can help make the connection, but it will not generally give you a better score. I believe that most voters only look to the title after they have viewed the image and use the title only to help if they don't see the connection immediately.

BUT - the top images in any challenge generally do not need any title.

AND - A really crappy title (way long and strange) can really turn voters off.

yes, I asked this earlier but noone answered. I am not hoping to get a better score because of the title. I was asking this because I got a correction to my title with a low score and nothing about the photo itself.

Music - Good scores and nice comments. :)

I think I know which one is yours and it deserves its great score. I'm slowly clawing my way up the 5 ladder still...at least I'm going up (started out at 4.9) and I was ever so bitter about it this morning. As the sun begins to set I have relaxed a little and taken on a more harmonious aura.... As I said before: my shot has adequate processing, it's got a school child, it's got instruments, it's got music happening...but it's got (or had) a very ugh score. At 42 votes I'm feeling a little more charitable towards the world :-)

Hey, I got the same comment and a C+ is slightly above average. Not what I would consider "good". :(

And I teach biology...

4.xxx. Truly dreadful score, but I have amused a few people so it's not a total loss.

Well, I obviously didn't do the job I intended to do. I chuckled about this one all week and then..... I now realize one really has to look past the OBVIOUS to get to the point. I will explain after the challenge is over. Great lesson learned for me, teach; however, I would argue this in class (and I got A+'s in all my biology classes. And my momma would probably come talk to you!) :) :) :)

edited to add forgotten smilies, Van :) :) :)

Mary, I left a comment on yours a few minutes ago, didn't I? I dug through your portfolio because I thought it must have been yours by the above comment. It truly did make me chuckle! :)

Well, I started out with one vote and a 5 and I thought "here we go again", but I am pleasantly surprised, now. Perhaps this one will stay above 6.:>) (crosses fingers and toes)

I got your comment but no grade. Does that mean I need to retake the test?

My "Music" score is really singing the blues! :(
It is my 2007 personal goal (ambitious as it may seem) to try and figure out what rocks the world for DPC voters. Every time I enter a shot I think will soar, it plummets to the ground. *whine...whine...whine*

biology - 6.1

not bad considering i wasn't even going to enter until about six hours before the deadline.

hooray
