That really depends on the city, and then within the city the area. Most of our "city" streets aren't nearly that busy and I'd imagine that to be true for many that don't live in a major metro area.

This is exactly why I have decided to stop doing challenges after my current entry for a while. The voters are all the "experts" who know exactly what the photographer should be shooting. It is no longer about what the photographer interprets or sees. The photographers view or artistic expression even when it falls within the description of a challenge is no longer valid. A sad thing is happening here.

Without digging deep, I went into my own favorites and say any of these would be excellent representation of shots that would do well in this challenge. Study them. They all have stories. Doesn't have to be B&W, though will probably score better if it is.

In no particular order:

in here and there just for shits & giggles...

I wasn't being a dick ... I was just pulling legs with my tongue in my cheek, poking fun at how many different ideas there are out there of what "true" Street Photography is and how varied the opinion is of what even QUALIFIES for a "Street Photography" Challenge.

I think it is SO funny that some people seem to be saying Street Photography does not conform to other peoples' standards ... so CONFORM to those who have gone before you and honour their legacy ... LOL!

Those are great photos which got me thinking... What are the chances that an American photographer shooting in America will win this challenge? I'm guessing the odds are not that great.

Just an Idea for a similar "Street Photography" shot.
This is a great shot maybe lay down the umbrella in front of theto take a person sitting on the bench and shoot them Both into the scene. Just tell the person "Wathch this, I'm going take a photograph of my umbrella", then do it quickly before he tries to get out of the picture.

I thought I'd upload some shots I took last July and September, when the sun was shining and temperatures weren't sooo cold as today.

Does the one without people qualify as Steet Photography?

The 2nd two are as-was-taken, not edited.

Curious, why not just use a friend instead that way you don't have to worry about them leaving the picture?

Im so lacking inspiration for this challenge its Saturday afternoon no ome is down the street so its pretty pointless
