In defense of JC, Ken and the few others who started in at the top of these threads, they didn't have the luxury of seeing the 140-whatever comments he made, most of which I agree were very helpful, and a lot more thoughtful than the norm. They each had one of the few really crappy comments he left. Its easy, all you guys standing up and saying how great he is, when you got nice comments like "Awesome" (Konador) and "I LOVE IT" (Chinstrap). When all you have to go on is "Yuck", well, he's going to look like a jerk.

Hopefully, Derty (if that is, in fact, your real name) will stick around. Maybe he'll even learn a little tact, maybe not. One thing I know: it would be a real hoot to lock he and ZuesZen in a thread and let them go at it! :)

It was not his ''nice comment'' on my photo. I took the time to look at what comments he had left on other people's photo's and found quite a few of them to be 'refreshing'. I dont think i said he was ''great''.
What i said was

quote
He left a comment on mine - it was short and 'sweet'

''I LOVE IT''

Knowing what an effort it can be,sometimes, to vote and comment I am very grateful for ANY comments I get.

unquote

Some people on this site moan when they do not get many comments and then moan again when they get a comment they do not like.

You can't please them all.

I didn't mean to knock you at all, and certainly didn't mean to imply that the only reason you supported him was cause he left you a nice comment. Simply that when this thread started, all that those who first posted had to go on were a single short, fairly rude (at least on the recieving end) comment. You said yourself you reached your conclusion after reading all his comments - they didn't have that luxury. My mentioning the nice comment he left you was simply to point out that you had a pleasant "introduction" to him - some didn't.

And, FWIW, give me all the useful negative comments you want - but if all you've got to say is "yuck", I'd just as soon you kept it to yourself. (But if you can't control yourself, then knock yourself out.) (Oh, and by the way, I mean the generic "you", not you specifically Mike. :) )

Scott - I understood what you were getting at and I was not referring to anyone specific with my reply. Apologies if it did not come across that way.

Thanks
Mike

This may be true, but no one is going to stop him from saying anything he wants. The only solution is to ignore. His comments can be viewed by all and will be judged for what they are. Don't mark ill-willed comments as helpful. Receiving all kinds of comments from others is part of posting photographs in a public arena. The supervising powers will protect freedom of speech, favoring the rights of the commenter. There are people who get their grizz from poking a stick in the eye of others. Don't feed their frenzy by offering them any reaction. It's the only way out of the situation.
