*laugh*

But was it a constructive "yuck"?

Be interesting to see how many "yucks" or similar childish statements the person makes on pics in general.

However, be careful JC ...... you may have just given away which photo is yours, and that is against the rules ;) All I have to do now is go and find one that looks "yuck" to me *laugh*

"Yuck" is a constructive comment if you can get past your anger at the wording.

Joking aside .....

I do not see "yuck" as constructive at all, as it offers nothing. To me it is a purely negative (destructive?) comment.

However .....

"Yuck, I hate the way the light ......."

"Yuck, the composition is all wrong ......"

With a qualification it can be constructive, but I think "yuck" alone is not constructive at all. If it were then just about any comment made would be constructive and the term "constructive" become meaningless.

I got this comment from I would say the same person "creepy...enough to knock you out of the competition."

I believe the same person just commented on my still life submission, no camera, vote only also registered today, he left this constructive comment: "This scene looks very authentic...I see this setup everywhere I go [sarcasm liberally sprinkled throughout]. Get real!"

I hate comments like these that make no sense and just leave me wondering what they were referring too...any way I have a feeling we'll be seeing more bizarre comments from this one.

Just remember .....

I doesn't take much to be able to shoot the work of others down when

a) You are anonymous (which in effect someone registering that way is)

and

b) You have never entered anything yourself that others could see

If I get a negative comment from someone who has just registered, doesn't have a photo up etc, I just ignore it. May be a brainless troll (as it looks like in this instance), may just be someone without communication skills, whatever.

I take the comments from the actual photographers here and try and improve from them, they are the views that matter to me. If I get a comment from a photographer I particularly admire I am also more likely to consider it in yet more depth.

I find that 99% of people here do try and help with constructive critism, so don't let the odd rotten apple .... oh, hang on, there's an idea for the literalismns challenge!
