I'm a 21 year old studying abroad in Tokyo right now but on Feb 13. I'm flying to Bangkok by myself for a pretty much completely unplanned journey in Southeast Asia for 43 days. I think i'll be in Thailand most of the time but I'd also like to see neighboring countries.

Kind of random and a long shot but if anybody wants to meet up or lives there and can show me around, or if anybody just has any recommendations for things to see or do, or advice I'd appreciate it. I've been reading a lot so I know the standard be careful with strangers and your luggage sort of stuff though.

Again, I'm not planning much so that I can do whatever I want whenever I want so I'm pretty flexible.

Thanks guys!

Thailand is the easiest, friendliest, loveliest country and so are all the neighbouring countries for that matter!
There's a pretty beaten path around SE Asia and it starts at the Khao San road so for starters why not try somewhere else?
Chiang Mai and the North are a dream at this time of year.
Koh Tao and Koh Lanta are the picks of the Islands but you cant go too far wrong with Phuket or Koh Pha Ngan.
In Laos Luang prabang is a MUST!
Just come and have a lovely time.
