how about that! first time in a LONG time to have two images finish over 8+ in the same challenge!

and how about all those 7+ scores. incredible work, to say the least. nicely done, all!!

And the 7th and 11th highest scoring images ever on DPC. WOW !!!
01/29/2007 12:44:36 AM · #3
I noticed that only one of the top ten has an average commenter vote below 8. That's pretty impressive too!

I think Ivory will have a tough time getting a new PB from here on out.
01/29/2007 12:47:08 AM · #5
Btw, is there an easy way to figure out the highest scoring shots that didn't even get an honorable mention?

Wow! I didn't have time to vote or comment in this challenge but I see that there are some really STUNNING compositions here!!! Congrats to the ribbon winners as well as those in the top 30!

OK can we at least take the one person that voted Ivory photo a 1 and give them a public lynching? Wow what an amazing photograph. Great job by everyone I havent voted in a while and wish I had on that after seeing the results.

Well this was a most stunning group of images, and an absolute joy to vote on! The astounding thing, to me, is that Three images scored over 7.5, yet did not earn a ribbon <boggle>. Wonderful work, people!

For further comparison (down here where the masses hope to score <g>), even scoring a 6.000 only secured 83rd place on the 62nd percentile. I wonder if that isn't the lowest placing 6+ image ever.

Congrats Ivory, you deserved every bit of that 8.3 score, and to all the other first pagers too; great job.

Seriously!!!! Some low scores are so ridiculous that you almost wish site council could just kick them off the site for blatant troll voting.

These ribbon winners were so deserving of the highest rates scores in dpc history -- in my opinion, the are certainly some of the most phenomenal photos in dpc history! As well as some of the other top finishers! This was a breathtaking challenge!

It was probably someone who voted DNMC because they thought it was a zoo shot. If so, that person only embarrassed himself/herself in the process. Regardless, the lone vote was steamrolled by people who appreciated a great photo. :-)

I gave it the 1 for bad lighting, poor composition and boring subject.

Sorry.

Joking aside, Ivory hs also set a new record for the Canon 300D (Digital Rebel) and also for the lens used.

Alexsaberi reclaimed the highest scoring 5D image and the highest scoring image for the 70-200 F4 L

Records broken all round!

(SC, can someone do the linky things so you can click on the lenses/cameras etc).
