Yep the Vindictives are out: went from 1st vote of 7 to the third vote which created an average of 5.3???

started at 2 views and 1 vote and avg vote = 7 ...

I rarely let a low score get me down, but this time this is really pissing me off! I worked hard on this shot and technically I reckon it's OK. The image only fills 'most' of the frame and not literally all of it, so maybe that's why I'm getting a flogging. However, I wouldn't know because I guess folks just ignore the request to make comments for scores below 4. The one comment I have got is simply 'DNMC', but no explanation of why...

As I said...the DNMC police are out there. So don't worry folks...whilst it may only be one or a few DNMC coppers....the rest of them will make up the ground.....eventually. In the meantime...I have a broad shoulder if ya want it. Isn't that what Sandgropers are for.

yep, reckon i got a 1 for an entry that is definitely NOT WORTH 1 .. and NO COMMENT ...
so i was pretty pissed until i came into this thread ... now i'm not as low (ie. thinking i've got no idea when it comes to my photography and challenges in particular)... i'm now feeling that there's someone out there who's having a very very very very bad day !!!!!!! |

This is what you do. These figures are hypothe4tical.
11 x 6.2500 = 68.75
12 x 5.8889 = 70.6668
So now you round it off.
71 - 69 = 2
So your last vote was a 2.
If for example you duck out and come back with another 4 votes...then you would average it out, as follows.
11 x 6.2500 = 68.75
15 x 5.6349 = 84.5235
So now you round it off.
85 - 69 = 16
So then you divide 16 by 4 (the amount of votes) and you get....4. So you got 4 votes averaging at 4.0
Does that help.

not all too worried about it.... funny thing is he gave the DNMC to an image that was scoring well over 7 ha! (only 10 votes tho so sure to drop) kinda make me laugh after the first shock of it.
the troll is prolly just grumpy as they tend to be! |
