Pointers, filters, etc. about taking pictures in the snow???

Plus: snow boots, gloves or mitts, toque, a warm coat, water to drink, and a plastic bag to put the camera in when returning to the warmth of your car or going back indoors (to avoid condensation).
I often set custom white balance to the snow (same direction as shooting), measure light on the sky, and shoot away, but if shooting against the light I will compensate about -1/2 to -1 F-stop.

| Extra batteries. Keep them in a pocket close to the body. |

Plain old exposure compensation. Exposure compensation is changing the exposure from what the camera meter suggests as the correct exposure. |
