Hi all!

First, if you've never heard of PPChallenge, it's a site I put together (based on DPC) for folks who like to edit shots, in similar fashion to nshapiro's editing contests. Anyone with a DPC account can play along, or vote, or just browse. Check it out!

Well, it's been a while since I posted last, and it's time to play catch-up again. Hats off to you, Scott - I have no idea how you keep up with the WPL! =)

Congrats to the following gold medal winners in our recent post processing challenges:

nshapiro on his winning edit in Challenge #22:

TrynityRose on her winning edit in Challenge #23:

cresus on his winning edit in Challenge #24 (creative rules):

Also, in case you hadn't noticed, I switched to a weekly contest period, starting on Thursdays. You won't want to miss the opportunity to edit the excellent shots this week, found on the compete page:

Don't forget to keep the photo submissions coming!

Cheers!
-Jeff

I Jeff,
I'm in on one of the new challengses, but are there any rules? I can't find any, other than basic (no nude, etc.)

Hi Chris,

The rules can be different per challenge, and they're listed near the challenge description on the compete page. You can click the rules for a more detailed description.

Currently there are two rulesets: DPC Advanced Editing and PPC Creative Editing (somewhat like Advanced and Expert here at DPC).

Cheers,
-Jeff

Ok I think I have to redo mine I think I took out too much. Is removing a hair chunk too much? Oh yea and a bra strap, I was feeling the need to take out the things I would have fixed before taking the photo.CB

I think you'd be ok removing those things as long as they're not "significant parts of the capture", nor would they "change a typical viewer's description of the photo."

I think people need to get out and vote on the ppchallenges. I only have 8 votes so far. Get out the vote!

Just a little bump for PPC! So far only 2 entries for this weeks challenge.

Ooh, I'd never heard of this before, it sounds pretty cool :) Except looking at the winning edits intimidates me a bit...

I forget about PPC from time to time. Thanks for the reminder!

Ok...I think I'd heard of PPC before but I just signed up for the heck of it. I am ABSOLUTELY FRIGGIN' AMAZED at some of the edits (#43, in particular).

Glad I bumped this thread then... I wasn't sure if people had just forgotten about it or if everyone was away for a long weekend!

Don't be intimidated... it's all about learning and having fun. The nice thing about this particular challenge is that it's anything goes for editing. No getting in trouble for working outside basic or advanced rules, so you can just play with different tools and see what happens! :)
