I posted my first photo, which isn't my photo for the week, but it's an introduction to my project and what it is... This is gonna be fun :)

I kinda fumbled my initial Theme for my PaW... but (as of now) it's going to be: "100-400mm L".
(All shots taken with that lens).

I think I've finally settled on some ideas for what projects I'm shooting this year. I'm not really going to shoot one project for 52 weeks, but I am going to try to produce one project related image per week, on probably three projects concepts. My blog below is still waffling on about the selection of the project. Hopefully I'll pin something down before I'm already a week behind!

OK I've decided what I'm doing this year. I failed miserably with my PAD last year. I am hoping to do a Photo a week thats themed. This year its a Macro a week. Link can be found here. Does someone have the html to add everyone doing this project to the right on my blog like there was last year?

What is the definition of a "week"? I have decided that mine is from Monday to Sunday (UK diary-style week) and that the first week ends this Sunday, January 7. This may be different from the US as the UK assumes Monday as the start of the week, not Sunday, but it is the one I am going with.
Turns out all of the travel I expected to do this week has mostly evaporated - typical! :-)

While I'm not complaining and would love the traffic, I'm not technically doing a PAD, PAW, PAM, or any other PA. However, I do frequently post images to my photoblog (like 4 or 5 per week, random shots mostly).
Please feel free to keep me on the list, but I'm not technically participating.

My blog (in the signature) has some more on this, but the one thing I kept reading in 'on being a photographer' about project selection, was to constrain it really tightly. More often than not, you'll pick something wide ranging, but really you want something constricting.
Because once you know what your subject is, you can then think about taking a good picture of it, rather than worrying about finding the right subject and taking an average record of it.
The AA battery results show that quite well I think.

Several people are on the list but without a theme. I am placing the theme next to your names to generate interest to your links. I would like to remove the 'unknown theme' next to your names. If you haven't specified a theme yet, please post one soon.

I fall into about the same category as hopper, not exactly fitting into either category. I'll be updating my photo blog regularly, hopefully daily, and sometimes I'll even go with a specific theme for a week or a month at a time. I'd like to stay on the lists because I like both giving and receiving a little traffic, but there's no specific theme to put beside my name.
Tlemetry, I couldn't find your links. Are you in the process of editing your blog or have I just missed them? I hope I have the right link for you. |

| Carl, I'm going to be going with the Monday-Sunday week, just because that's how the year started. I should have a new image posted no later than Sunday of each week. As such, I haven't gotten around to my first official post, but you can see my warm up post on my PAW site. |

Yes Puzzled I am adding everyones links and themes.
My week starts Sunday-Sat and I will be checking everyones site out on sundays.
I would really like to see everyone commit to a specific theme. That is the idea of the project, after all.
I have already seen some fantastic blog sites here! Good job!
I am thinking about rewarding those who have posted for the week higher on the link list. So if you dont participate that week, you will drop to the bottom. Those who have not commited and just want publicity may get booted off the list altogether. I haven't yet decided this.

Yes like that, but it doesnt work in the new blogger, at least I cant make it work by editing the HTML. I assume they are using something else in the new blogger. Or maybe I'm just and idiot and cant get it to work. I'm going to manually put it in.

Hey Matt,
I'm using the New Blogger and it seems to work fine for me. I just went to "Add a Page Element" and used the HTML/Java Script option and just pasted that list as is right into it. As far as I can tell, it's working. Hmmmmm....

THANKS! I was putting it in the wrong page element! Now I have the whole list there. Geeze that wasnt so hard, just had to have someone tell me what to do. (dont tell my wife she says that all the time!)

Ah, so you did it the easy way :)
Mine works, but it took some tweaking around in the site code. Needless to say I have a much better understanding of CSS/HTML now.
There's a lot to this new Blogger that I still need to learn. |

It was hard to pick one subject for the whole year so I decided on the theme, "Flavor of the Month". The plan is to have a different theme each month, with January being "Photography by Night" (already posted first image).
The other months are TBD. Thanks! |

I'm all about the Easy Way. :) And why aren't you on my list??? I'll dig around this thread for your link and add it. Also, I've been trying to keep with the new additions but if I'm missing anyone, just let me know. :)
