well... I'm going to attempt to see if I can actually stick with something for a change. I'm pretty sure that I have my theme... or a couple to choose from anyway.

Here's my link.... although there's nothing there as of now.

Thanks for the inspiration (idea) jmsetzler...

I'm thinking "Doorways" or maybe "Doorways & Windows". Just not sure if that would be too limiting for a whole year....

Perhaps I'll keep pondering for a bit.

No website set-up yet, still debating if I want to just add it to my Buzznet or just go with blogger or something like that.

I think those ideas are about perfect for a project like this. It's not too specific, but open enough that you could accomplish one per week without much trouble.

I am in a real state of photographic "blahs" and this sort of project really appeals to me. I like the idea of a theme, and I also like the one a week factor (at leaset one a week.)

I'm really inspired by Johns initial post and the topic he's done already of his town. I think mine will be "Hometown Hamilton" and be photos of my town and events/people in it. I already had a gallery with some hometown type photos that I really enjoy and have been wanting to add to....this will fit in perfectly with that goal.

Hometown Hamilton is the link to my PAW. I have one photo in there right now simply as a placeholder until I begin the project in January.

John...thanks so much for this idea, and for the theme idea as well.

My site is all set for the new year. www.tlemetry.blogspot.com

I still need to add everyones links.

If you do this project, don't 'end' it after 52 weeks. That project of mine is ongoing and will never really end until i quit making photos. I don't do that one on any schedule either.. just whenever I feel like it. it's one of my favorite projects though :)

Although 'ending' a project isn't a bad thing. Particularly if you had some goal in mind - a book, a calendar, a set of prints. It's good to actually finish some things.

This particular project can't end until the subject ends. If that happens, I'll probably end too and that won't be any fun.

I like the idea of Square format, and also Around Town. Will set up a gallery soon enough.

I'm going to give it a whirl...I'll set-up a website next week sometime (or this weekend).

My initial thoughts on a theme (or themes) is "Trees of Bucks County" (that's in Eastern PA) - that would be a public PaW. I would also like to concurrently run a private PaW which would be weekly images of my 5 year old daughter...I might make that public - we'll see.

I's dun gonna use the lovely and talented mk's suggestion (PixelPost?)...yeah.

You could do one particular tree. Last year I took photos of a small tree, not even waist height, throughout the seasons. It turned out to be a peach tree. They weren't weekly photos, though. Sometimes close-ups of buds, blossoms, leaves, spiders and insects...

I thought about doing that since I think that would be an interesting study...but knowing myself, after about 6 weeks of shooting the same tree, I would want to drive my truck into it :-)

That being said, it's a great idea, but since this is my first attempt at any "Photo-a-x", I think it would be wise for me to broaden the scope a bit - to give myself ample opportunity to successfully complete this challenge.

[Aside]
Whenever I type 'myself', I can't help but think of Austin Powers' suave introduction - "Let myself introduce...myself".

I was browsing the photography books at Barnes and Noble tonight and I may have found my inspiration in a book I browsed.

Humble Masterpieces: Everyday Marvels of Design

This book is full of simple closeups of everyday objects. I'm seriously considering doing my own version of this. I'm still withholding my original idea for this project... I may have to fall back on it :)

It works fine for me, but there is a user login section in the upper left which could be confusing.

Thanks Nick, I think it looks weird because the album is empty. I did have to change a setting that I thinking was locking unregisters users out.

My project idea is in place... I decided to go with a 'fun' theme rather than something else... I had decided originally to do 'hands' so there's a topic for someone who is still looking...

My theme is going to be Historical Landmarks. I don't have a site set up yet, but will have this in place by January 1. :)

I am pretty sure I have narrowed mine down to "things you find at the beach"
