Last year a whole slew of people from DPC decided to join together in the enormous endeavor of creating individual Photo A Day blogs.

I know that I fell quite a bit short of the year, but I think there are several people who did a great job keeping up with theirs!!

So now a new year approaches....2007 looms on the horizon with all of its (as of yet) unbroken promises :-) With all of that inspiration hanging in the air.....

Who's up for PAD 2007??

I'm IN! I almost made it the whole year in 2006, so I'm eager to try again and see if I can do it. :)

I'll give it a go. Shooting more is always one of my desires, so a little spak should go a long way. Let's do this.

My PAD'96 lasted exactly two days.

I've kept up with mine and I'll be continuing into 2007. I've had lots of fun with it.

Mine is still going (though december's pics haven't been uploaded yet) from 2006, so I am planning on going on through 2007 as well.

Sounds like a fun challenge. Do you keep these "Photo Blogs" in one place or do we go with our own blog site? I have plenty of space on my site to maintain my own, just curious though.

I bet I make it at least through Jan 1, 2007! ;-)

Are these photos of anything? yourself?

I use Blogger for my blogs (see my blog in my sig). A photo a day can be anything you want it to be. Some days I post more than one photo, depends on what I have shot that day. I think with the exception of 2 or 3 days every photo on my blog was taken on the day it was uploaded.

I am exhausted from doing my 2006 PAD and have been thing about scaling back for 2007 to at POW, picture of the week. It has been fun, I didn't stick to the themes very well and had a few make up days, it hasn't always been an easy task but I am still going.

Well, last year a bunch of us started on Jan 1st. The large majority used Blogger, which is a free site and is really easy to use. You should be able to set up a blog in no time there! Then, once everyone had theirs set up, we shared the web addresses so we could link to the other DPC PAD sites. That way we could share comments and such throughout the year.

I think if you go to Blogger then the steps should be there!

I would highly suggest anything :-) Last year I tried to set different categories for each month: B&W, portraits, macro, etc. But quite frankly it's challenging enough just to get a photo up there every day! So I think this year I will just shoot for that.

I'd also like to add the caveat that it does NOT have to be a *good* photo every day ;-)

Sounds great. I'm in. I will use my own blog script on my web host. When we get going, I'll share the link.

I'd like to give it a try.

I will attempt.

Aww, come on Larus! Make it a Photo A Week then!! :-) We'd still love to see more of your work!

Justine, that's all that's needed is a try! Shoot, I didn't make it all the way through mine in 2006 but I still feel like I learned a ton.

It's not like anyone will come to your house and beat you with a stick if you don't get a photo up there every day. But it's one more way that we can share our photos with each other, and maybe even get a small glimpse into each others lives and become closer friends :-)

I found that when I was shooting everyday for my PaD, my overall photography improved. Granted there were somedays that I took a picture of something lying on my desk just to have a shot that day, but it was fun.

Towards the end of the year (about October), my life got super busy and I uploaded a picture for each day, sometimes four or five (or a week) at a time, but I think I have managed to get a shot for each day in 2006.

If you are thinking about it, make up the rules yourself. You may want to discipline yourself to taking a picture a day, editing a picture a day, or uploading a picture a day. Or week.

You may want themes, or you may just do stuff.

You may only want high quality portfolio stuff, or you could just relax and have fun.

I recently discovered that a friend of mine in another state is still checking out my pictures each day. She likes the wide variety I have because the "relax and have fun with it" is more my style.

I have considered doing this again in 2007. I have some 'issues' with the idea though, and I'll start a different thread on that since it's not really what's being discussed here.

I am considering doing it though... I would like to find a few people who are thinking about it the same way I am to work alongside....

nah, PAD just turns into taking some crap shot to post because there's no time to do something good. I like Setz's alternative tho.

Ok...gave in and created a blog for this. I have been seriously lapse in my photo taking for a long time now and not sure why - confidence, lack of ideas/inspiration, who knows. I figure this may just get me back into the swing of not thinking and just shooting, the way I like it. I miss going out with the camera every time I leave the house. Can't even trace to an instance or circumstance where this change occurred. But perhaps I can reverse this lull and get the 'spirit' back.

How/when/where are we sharing the blog addresses?

I did.

But I've seen a lot of other people's PAD do the same.

Not all, but quite a few.

I failed PaD in 2006, but I did a month more than in 2005! So... in 2007 I'm going to do something a little different.

I'm going to make a video using every single photo I take, even outtakes, rubbish ones, out of focus ones, under exposed ones, bright white ones, every single one. It's gonna be about 5-10 frames per second, whatever works best, as a kind of flickbook of my year.

Might look quite cool at the end of it! I'll have a rolling date along the bottom too if it's not too much work :P
