The cheap one is VGA only, doesn't support a DVI connector (better image quality)

Not adjustable in height.

Isn't a USB hub. Doesn't support s-video inputs.

Doesn't say if it is the same panel/ have the same level of adjustment/ contrast control etc or not.

The 207 has a faster response time (3x as fast), but a narrower viewing angle by a few degrees. I don't think the 207 has the additional USB hub built into it that the 2007 has.

The 2007 has a stand that allows for height adjustments. I have monitors with each type of stand, and I won't buy another monitor from Dell without the adjustable one.

Those seem to be the major differences.

yes, both have DVI connectors.

Ah... also from the user review for the 2007
"The Fact that I can rotate the monitor 90 degrees and view portrait mode is awsome."

One is DVI Audio - it doesn't clearly say it'll work as a DVI connected monitor though, for video. Which seems weird, but it's what their pop-up advertising claims only.

The tech specs says DVI/ HDCP

I would suggest reading this thread and glean some info from EddyG. The difference is probably under the hood, not accessories.

DVI = Digital Video Interface.
HDCP = High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection - the DVI connector allows for this "protection".

There are no speakers built into the monitor so having audio come through would be useless, no?

yeah, I know what the acronyms mean. But the pop-up 'view the connectors' option only shows a VGA and DVI-audio connectors. But that could be some firefox weirdness not working with the pointless flash ad. The real difference, that is manifesting itself in the different I/O ports though, will be the quality of the underlying panel and how configurable/ calibratable it is. Cheap panels usually just can't be configured very much.
