I entered the following picture in another site and scored pretty high....for me anyway. I scored 11/194. I was just wondering what you guys thought on wether it looks better in color or sepia. I like them both, just want some feed back.

Actual entry:
//www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=43617

Color version:
//www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=43618

Thanks,

June

PS. I'm happy to say that I also placed number 10 with another picture in that same contest:

i think i like the sepia better

it goes well with the old timey feel of the train and helps accentuate the lighting.

I agree with magnetic totally ...

They didnt have color photography in the old days so having it in color ruins the whole feel to it

I really like the sepia, too. It's very nice.

You captured terrific colors in that photo - but I'm partial to the sepia. Seems more realistic for your subject. Very nice work!! :-)

I like the sepia better, because it seems suitable for the old train in its "natural" setting; as if the photo was taken when such trains were really "active." A photo of the same old train in a city park with kids playing on it would probably look better in color.

I also like the sepia better because the bright colors tend to distract from the subject, but in the sepia the subject becomes the center of attention

I'm going to play devils advocate and opt for the colour version, yes the sepia version does have an old world feel. But it seems such a shame to duo-tone an image that has such vivid contrasting colours.

Sepia without a doubt.

It is a "nice" shot of a train in colour. In sepia is jumps right up to "fantastic" :)

OK, the sepia is nice, but as a model train enthusiast, I like the color best....nice contrast between the black and red.
