With basic editing I couldn't really get out of it what I wanted.

The one I entered

The one I didn't enter
I prefered this one but wasn't sure if there was enough diagonal in it to meet the challenge.

I actually had doubts about the one I entered not being diagonal enough : )

biteme I think you entered the right one. nixter I think you did too. I like your out take better photographically but for the challenge I think you made the right choice

I decided to enter "famous last words" instead (big mistake... apparently snow is only interesting to those of us who "never" get it)
but this was what I was planning to enter.

Would it have done any better? I wonder if what I see as flaws others agree on...

beecee I like this one better than your famous last words entry. I can't say if this would have done better or worse but I like this one better.

Thanks Sheryll, I did too, but I wasn't sure if tilting the camera would be accepted, rather than finding/creating diagonals in relation to a level horizon.
(also, the other challenge had wayyyyy less entries ;) )

And Hanneke, I loved your entry :)
Nixter, for this challenge I think you made the right choice :)

BeeCee, I'd have to agree with Sheryll.
Sheryll and BeeCee thanks for the feedback.
Biteme I think you made the right choice too.

Thanks girls! : )

I personally prefer the landscape oriented picture but in terms of the challenge? definitely the one you entered. Obviously a lot of people would agree since you snagged 13th with it

Notice the refelection in the piano? Yes, the entry is taken from next to the piano, the outtake is taken from the stairs in the entry.

I actually like your entry very much, and gave it a good score. I agree the outake would not have done as well for you.

Well, here's the COLOR version of Regicide! Now that I look at it, I probably would have done better using it...

Also here is an alternative picture I was going to use if I couldn't shoot Regicide in time:

I think I'll win this one for stupidest move just before rollover.

My entry was this one, and all of the comments were dead on.

I pulled this one less than an hour before rollover, thinking that the diagonal was too subtle. Probably not a ribbon winner, but still not the smartest thing I've done on a challenge. :)

Made at the same time (within minutes) of the entry, had this one posted for days, took it down at the last minute and posted the other.

It's a good thing too since this would have only scored a 7.2 :P
