ok, so i'll post first since i had lots of usable shots from this challenge. my wife likes to buy my (nearly) 3yr old these goofy hats and i just got an umbrella to use w/ my flash in wireless mode...

the boy was actually a very good model for me...

as you might notice, the entry was a crop taken from the last photo in this series...

entry :

outtakes :

and last but not least, my new profile pic :

ETA: a couple of other shots that my wife liked have been posted on his website

My entry did well so I'm happy. I liked this shot also but didn't want to enter it for fear of getting hate votes from all the people posting bullshit rants every time they see an American flag.

Hope I made the right choice. Yes, the bra strap was bothersome but I literally got these uploaded less than 20 minutes before the challenge was due and thought this was the best choice at the rushed time.

Quickie editing on these cus I'm feeling lazy:

Having some fun!

I debated on going with a B&W version

personally, i like the color version much better... his face kinda gets lost in the b&w version...

as for mine, i'd really like to know if people were turned off by the odd crop i made... personally, i liked the quirkiness of it, but in retrospect, it might have turned others off...

any opinions?

(note: the outtake is a simple RAW convert, not fully processed...)

I prefer the B&W version. I thought his face was a bit too red. Love the shot.

I got some complains about the thick boarder. THe reason for the "thickness" is that I felt that the subject on the image needed more empty/negative space around - but the original shots did not have it.

so I thought i had a good idea for my entry but i ended up being dilated for an eye exam just before i got home to shoot on the last day. my eyes hurt and i couldn't see for crap. here is a better edited version although i couldn't have edited like this for the challenge, this is pretty much what i wanted to achieve.

I didn't have a horse in this race but I really enjoyed voting it.
