I was just wondering what other hobbies (outside photgraphy) everyone has?

I've been bowling for close to 30 years. Not recreational, but league play and tournaments.

I play badminton, not good enough to play in a league but getting there.

I also have a silver Tenor sax which I haven't played in ages and was asked yesterday to learn it again as i am wanted in a band - so this is a hobby that has come to the fore again.

There are "OTHER" hobbies??

Right now I'm learning Hindi. So I guess we could call that a hobby. Hmmm, outside that...weight lifting isn't a hobby persay, but it is what I do a good bit of outside of photography.

Hmmm. I need new hobbies apparently.

I guess if you can call an excessive number of pets a hobby - my roommate and I got into snakes this year with the idea of breeding in about 3yrs. So we have been spending a lot of time going to reptile shows and reptile pet stores, buying new snakes, and setting up a reptile room etc. I also then spend a lot of time handling and feeding...so between that and DPC...not much time for any other "fun" stuff.

Didn't see this until I posted my message above. Do you know of the Free Internet Chess Server? (link here but doesn't seem to be working right now). With simple software that you can download to your computer, you can play against people anywhere in the world. There's a java board available too. I've been a member for many, many years and usually play a few games of speed chess every day to stay in touch with the game.

No, I played on Yahoo a while back. Could we use freechess to play our games and administer the tournament on another site, like WPL?

I played on Yahoo's java based system too, but it was years ago. It was very slow and prone to problems. Freechess is so much better because it's based on software running locally. I'm not sure how tourney admin would operate. It would likely involve a lot of work for whoever wanted to take it on.

Z cars, cycling, webdev, and endless honey-do list. Well, the later is a forced one.

I'm a pretty serious Jazz Saxophone player-good enough to get gigs at least.

Woodworking, glassblowing, fishing, archery, learning Chinese, RC racing, studying to be an Engineer... I think I'm overextended...
