Ok, sometimes you run across something cool and think "I really want to share this with my friends". And sometimes you run across something really cool and think "I'm not telling anyone... I'll rule the world with my little secret". Well, this is somewhere in between. Its very cool - a free action for PS that emulates an infra-red-ish effect and works really well in certain situations. I ran it today on about 30 images and found high-keyish images tend to do best.

Enough talk - here's the link: Infrared Tutorial - Bonus Content - Professional Photograhpers Magazine

I would show some of my trials - but I seem to be unable to load to DPC just now. Perhaps later.

Enjoy.

Thanks Cindi...just like you shared the free magazine subscription a few weeks ago--it is definitely appreciated!

Thank you, Les. I'm happy to share my findings. When I find something that's offered by pros for pros... and for free... and it works..... I can't help but get excited.

Did you notice his method of B/W conversion - using Image>Calculations..... that's a new one on me and I'm liking the results!

You know, I've seen a million different methods of B&W conversions, but none using Image>Calculation...I'll have to play around with it for the current challenge (assuming I can find the time, darn it!)

I've heard about it in the B&W Tutorial thread here... but have never used it. Looks very interesting.

No, I'm still getting an error everytime I try to upload, to any folder. It goes to a dead page, when I hit back I see a red error on load page saying "we only accept.... blah blah" but I've checked & resaved the files and uh, I know how to upload.... Any ideas, SC?

Not really, as long as it's an RGB JPEG file and not too big ... if you want, you can email me the problem file and I'll try uploading and see if I get the same error.
