Canon Rebel XTi 400D

I sure wish I waited before I got the 350D!

But its the ugly silver body. Notice the HUGE price difference between the more popular black body? And to note that the black body is out of stock. Must be selling quickly and the silver is sitting. Link to Black body

Ahh... You think the "400" is that much better than the 350d? Rebel XT?? Not worth the price jump! Just go big and get the $2000 Jobby!

OK - it might not be as good looking as the black body - but if I could get a 400D for that price I wouldn't whine about that. The price here in Denmark is something like 925$ (black body - they don't sell the silver one here as far as I know).

That price is a bit cheaper than what I paid a few months ago for the 350D, and I shopped around to get the best price.

The silver body is now listed as Out of Stock.

Wonder how many DPCers will have a new camera in the next week?

I see a lot of xt people posting here, am I not the only person who REALLY wants to upgrade from my 350 to the 400? My wife says its silly. "just because they made a new one doesn't mean you have to get it." but of course she makes all the money ;) What do you guys think? should I upgrade? also, I don't understand where you found that link. When you look it up, it is much higher price and this link says out of stock.

I just hit the link to Notify When in Stock. I was going to hold off on this purchase, but that price is to good. The wife and I had some initial discussion about the purchase, but she hasn't fully bought into the idea. I could be in deep do-do if it becomes available before she gets back from Texas.

If you use the Notify When in Stock option is the same price still good?

I started to make a similar thread earlier, but checked prior to submitting and noticed the price change. BUT... I also found out about some "hidden" show specials on different products there. Link should take you to all the specials, if not do a search for "PPE06" in the search field. Happy shopping!

Just make sure to have the lens mount on the camera body taped over before beginning.

I'm not sure whether to be baffled or just think some of you are out of your mind for paying $75 - $100 for the same camera just because it's black.

Anyone have experience with this site? It's only $449.00!!! AND it's available! I am in the market for this camera. This looks too good to be true!!! :)

Maybe they make money with the many "Shooters Packages" that are on the same page. I don't know...

Any thoughts?

For those trying to decide between black/silver: When I bought my 350, I wanted the black. Both were in stock, but the sales guys talked me into silver. He told me black will draw in heat, the silver helps reflect it. If the camera gets to hot it could malfunction. Makes sense, so I have the silver. (and love it!)

That is an excellent point, Heather.

In Florida, silver would be the way to go as heat is always a problem here.

Thanks for the suggestion.
