Just in case you were wondering. I now have 20 sets of mentor/students set up. I'm still not getting a huge amount of feedback, but on the other hand, not many complaints either.
In the future, I will stop using the mentor title...it barely applies. From now on, it's Photo Friends.

Are there any more of you that would like to sign up? If you'd like to have a "one on one" relationship offered to you, whether you lead or follow, please feel free to contact me with a note. Please state whether you'd be more of a leader or a follower; camera info is helpful, but I can look it up; what areas you want to help with or get help for; a small background would be nice; some photos and comments in your profile would be nicer :)
Thanks for your time. Rob

I got your email Rob and I will email you back later tonight when I have a lot of uninterupted free time. But briefly, I am not sure who is benefiting more. The student you gave me has outdone me on the last two challenges and I have a feeling she is going to do it again this week.

She has good ideas and excutes them well...

"The student you gave me has outdone me on the last two challenges".

I'm in the same boat! That's one of the reasons for the name change from mentor to friend. The student that asked me to be a mentor, I wasn't planning on participating on THAT level, has a far better photo eye than I have. On the other hand, she's turning out to be a great friend, so what the heck!

...and me... :-)

Sounds like something I might like to be apart of, if possible.

The only reason I am doing better is because of the assistance and help of my mentor/new photo friend.
I have gotten lots of help from Ann. I feel so much more confident when she see what I have and helps me edit. She has sent me tons of sites to help me learn and is always available when I have a question. This is really a wonderful idea and has worked well for me. Thanks for setting it up.

Well, how do we join? Can we choose our mentor/photo friend from a list or is it like a match making service?

My mentor/friend has helped me understand a lot of basic photography things that I couldn't get a handle on. He went back to the basics for me. We had long conversations online and he was veeeeeery careful to make sure I understood. It's been great. Thanks for setting this up.

Mary, it really is helping both of us. I found ways to make it work for both of us. Oh my I do need to go play a while and work on my half of our assignment for this week.

My photo friend is very obedient, sits up straight in class and always brings me a shiny apple before the lesson :-)

Thanx for starting this up Rob, it's working out really well. And photo friend sounds a lot better than mentor/mentee.

Hi, if I understand this correctly, basically two people are helping each other with taking pictures, right? Can I be a part of this? I am taking an exit exam from photography since I am finishing high school and I would need some help with the photos. My teacher is not that great - actually he is a drama teacher so I would definitely appreciate more help... I have a website of my photos - //www.batokova.net
Thanks a lot
