In the dreams and nightmare challenge I havnt found but a handful of pictures that I could give higher than a "5" to and a whole lot that got less. Am I being to critical or is anyone else noticing the same thing.
maybe im just expecting a higher quality of photos from a "members challenge".

And why would you expect a higher quality of shots from members? The only qualification is having a spare $20 ...

I guess I'd say you're being too critical. I gave out a few 10's, several 9's, and like 20 8's! I really loved lots of shots in the dreams challenge, and I thought it gave people the chance to play with the "dreamy" effect, and it worked great for some people.

I guess the challenge wasn't one that brought out a ton of creativity...? I liked many of the shots [mine too] and thought some folks really hit the mark.

this was a tough challenge, but I think there were some that people thought through and had a creative take. I always look for images that can fit on there own and with a little or clever help from the title bring it home. a couple of tens some eights and some sevens not to bad overall. so far I've even managed to comment on forty...going to try to get to all of them this time.

justine, i have to say thanks to you, i have noticed that you have been giving a LOT of comments-- perhaps i am lucky, but i think in last 3 challenges i have had a comment from you on each shot. so thanks!!
oh yea-- on thread topic-- i didnt find the dream shots as disappointing as the urban landscape one of quality.

I think there are several factors working against us here. I know that I have not entered a challenge in several weeks.

First I'm back to working heavily for the next few months at least and dont have time to spend on ANY of my hobbies.

Second, the challenge topics seem to have gotten much harder to fill. Things like irony, flight,& dreams. These challenges require a lot of thinking, and setting up or finding. What happened to the more open topics like the letterB, Repetion, and the ones that allow you to consintrate on the art of photography instead of "meeting the challenge" I personally will not submit a photograph that is stretching the limits of the challenge. Spiders as insects not withstanding;) However I think that there are those among us who have different opinions.

Therfor until I get more time off from work and/or the challenges become broader again you wont be seeing many of my admittedly mediocer submissions.

of course this weekend I'm going to an Oyster Festival in Chicoteaque Island Va. Lots of revealing pics, but no internet access before Tuesday. Oh well. Keep on shooting.
