Sounds like undue pun-ishment... sorry couldn't resist.

There were a lot of very punny Irony shots. And, how much would the pun-dits in the forums argue about the definition of a pun?

Yeah I can see it now, 317 shots titled "Pun Intended!"

I was going to start my own thread, but this one's close enough to highjack!
How about colloquialisms? For example: //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=6765
Or Don't spit into the wind (gross, just an example), or in other languages (my german is VERY rusty) Fogel in der kopft (bird in your head - it means crazy), Crazy like a fox (how you'd do THAT??). There are thousands of variations - all would be fun to try. Pictures are supposed to be able to "tell a story", now this should be a challenge!
(I have another idea, but in case this gets chosen, I'm holding it in reserve!)

Digging up an old post so i don't create another on the subject. I like the idea of a Pun Challenge. Yes, it would probably be very Ameri-centric, but I believe there are mostly English speakers here, so it would still lean toward the majority.

And people would have to learn to ignore the sick feeling one gets when attacked by a particularly bad pun, and vote on picture quality. Remember, a bad pun is like good limberger: It's still cheesy and it still stinks, but it can win a contest....

maybe we should ask alanis morrisette for the definition of a pun.

OK, so, a man wants to enter his favorite pun he made up into the local newspaper's pun competition. To better his chances, he submitted ten different puns. When the contest was over his favorite pun didn't win. In fact, no pun in ten did.

(i had to)

I think I'd rather kill myself than vote on 300 pun shots!
(not a big fan of puns!)
