I should have entered this one, right?:

I was worried about oversharpening comments on the hair, even though only the eyes were sharpened.

This was a crop of my actual entry that flopped:

I like the one you entered. As the other comm's I would have prefered the lady not so centered. Nice shot!

I was fairly torn between the one I entered and this one which feels different.

You should have entered this one, and I'd have a third ribbon :-)

The one you entered is absolutely best - and if it's any comfort, your picture was in my top 3...

This was my entry, a candid portrait that scored 5.96 and dropped in score every single day of the challenge.

This was my alternative, but I thought it was a bit too dark.

My outtake

I was going back and forth over these 2 and came to the conclusion the outtake was not going to be to well received, but now I am not sure. I didn't think the harsh shadows would play well, but they are there to convey a feeling of the 50's.

I did a big mistake by removing this one from the challenge.

Though completely different to your actual entry, this outtake is stunning and I'm sure would have been in a high percentile.

Yes. Yes, you did. What were you thinking? A flower in a Free Study?
