Hi all,
I'd like to get a nice point and shoot (I've seen them referred to as Sleek and Slim) to keep in my purse when I don't have my gear with me. Something 7mp's or up preferably. I've looked at the HP below and demo'd it but it was really slow to recharge (I think the manual says 6 secs and that seems about what I experienced) and I didn't like the manual focus at all. That's too bad because for 10 mp's it's a great price. And I have an old HP that I could use the cards from so I'd save in several areas. I also looked at the Sony below and like it but it's manual focus options are limited...not totally manual.

Does anyone have an opinion or some experience (good or bad) with either of these two or any other suggestions with a great Sleek and Slim?...thanks, Kim

My mom bought herself a Casio ExSlim - I think it's 6MP - and I gotta say it doesn nearly every possible mode you can think of, and does them well. Takes very nice pics and is very small and easy to carry.

I bought the Casio Exilim EX-S600 for my wife. It takes great pictures and is amazingly small.

I really doubt your gonna find a a slim P&S that has good/reliable manual focus, Is that really a neccessity for you?
Maybe consider a slim Canon--

I bought my wife a Pentax OptioS5Z last year for Christmas. She likes it and I use it occasionally when I don't have my camera. The only thing I don't like about it is that, like so many P&S's, it doesn't have a viewfinder (I mean a real one).

Thanks for the suggestions! That's two votes for a Casio. I looked at it and it does look good. I'll be going to check it out tomorrow.

The manual focus is kind of a secondary need but I've been trying to figure out a way to shoot the inside of a kaleidoscope and the focus is a bit of an issue since some of the barrels aren't that long. Macro may or may not take care of it.

I looked at one of the Canons...not the one suggested but even with small hands the buttons on the one I checked out felt miniscule. I'll take a look at this one though.
