Poll for next member's challenge theme?

The site already has the ability to conduct polls. My suggestion is to put up a week-long poll for the theme of the next member's challenge and let everyone vote. I'd suggest listing 10 random topics from the "challenge suggestion database". The poll results would need to be kept secret until midnight Sunday night, when the new theme would be announced based on the poll results and 10 new challenge themes would be picked at a random.

is there some sort of advantage to doing this? i don't understand why it's necessary, but i can be educated

Just thought it would be interesting to have some member input to the challenge themes instead of them being seemingly completely random... that's all... nothing more...

As I see it, we already have input on the challenge themese. The site administrators take the topics from our suggestions. Make some noise, suggest a topic and it will come to pass.

Right... but some suggestions are better than others. By allowing the folks who have to submit to the challenge have some input into what they want to shoot, I think the quality of the submissions could increase.

But wouldn't people get bored of a Flora, Pet, or Kid challenge every week? :P

I don't see any reason why those types of challenges would appear in the randomly selected list of 10 challenge themes any more than they do at this point...
