Maybe a photo of the mount would help people identify it ? That's the bit at the camera side of the lens, not the front.

Hi Diana

The Sigma Minitel looks like it has a an M42 screw thread. This was used on older Pentax models before they introduced the Pentax K bayonet mount.

HTH

PS I think you used to be able to get M42 to K mount adaptors. But as you say yourself this is very old lense.

200mm/f4 SIGMA MINITEL YS MACRO TELEPHOTO M42 1975
Found this on this page: //www.vintagecameras.co.uk/ltd/pentax.htm

Looks like a Pentax/Practika screw mount to me. The only Sigma Minitel 200mm f4 lenses I could find were for that mount.

I did a search and didn't find much info. It seems that the Y-S mount is unique to the sigma lenses made in the 60's. I read on one page that it is nearly equivalent to a T-Mount. I also ran across some info about adapters. It seems like you can use the lens with a variety of cameras once you find the right adapter. It's a 42mm mount but from what I've read the threads are NOT the same size as the M42 Pentax mount.

Do a little research online.

Thanks everyone for the research and the information you gave me.
I found the Pentax Collectors Home page but it is down right now. I will go back later. Also I will take it to the local camera store and see if he can help me . Thanks again

Diana, I have read in the forums of using other lenses to shoot through with your dig. camera even though it doesn't adapt. Someone here did a super close up this way. You might try it.
