During the course of shooting for flight, I had a funny experience.

I was out walking with my wife, and camera, when I saw a bird, a dove I believe, standing out in the road.

I thought, surely when a car comes, he/she will take off. Rubbing my hands together, I trained my camera at the ready to capture the event.

Instead of taking off, though, this silly bird ran out of the way!

Come on! I implored, I'm trying to get my Challenge shot!

Anyway, here's the picture of the obstinate, running dove :) ..

LOL! He probably knows it's hunting season and dove is fair game (in some states anyway). If he takes off, he's as good as dinner! Smart bird, I'd say.

I love your photo. Great capture. Certainly got a chuckle out of me. Thanks for sharing.

nice shot.....doves and pigeons around here do the same thing. Guess they are not as scared of a 2 ton vehicle as the rest of us.

Funny shot Mag, I bet if it was a 'catch a bird running' challange this little fella would have taken off straight away.

Some birds will protect there eggs or babies by luring would be egg eaters away. A Killdeer will even flap one wing like its hurt.

Good shot, funny

Hmmm, I'm wondering if THAT is irony :)

Mag, that's a great, funny story! Beautiful shot of a morning dove. Love them, several visit our yard regularly. When they first take off, it's a wonderful sight! Too bad, that would have been a winner for sure!

that's still a good shot, looks like he's running down the runway, ready for takeoff! :)
