Here's the deal - I'm interested in finding someone hat wants to make slideshows set to music for me.
I tear up when I see a one of these, so I know brides will! I want to show it on a PC (old, slow) in my waiting room as well as have it on a DVD that any normal DVD player can play. Perhaps a flash or web-viewable copy as well.
I have messed around a bit, but don't have the interest or time to learn the software and do the work. I played last night in photostory for windows for 4 hours and it's not as good as I want.
Would someone out there be interested making slideshows for some money? Something nice as a demo piece and then as I sell them, you make them.
I have no clue on how many images are usually included or how they are chosen (you, me, the bride?). We can work out a list of options perhaps - 20 images and 5 mintues vs 40 images and 10 minutes...you tell me - you're the expert on this!

My sister is just starting out as a graphic designer and is always looking for freelance stuff that will allow her to expand her skillset/portfolio. I can talk to her, as she might be willing to give it a go for you. Do you know what software is typically used?

I use Adobe Premier for making films for my University course, and its not much of a step in a different direction to use it for slideshows. I'm no expert in wedding slideshows (no experience) but I know my way around the software well.

my wife has recently gotten into making these using photo story... she's made several for our son's website
check the latest one, and if it's something like what you're looking for, PM me... she's a stay at home mom and we're always looking for ways for her to make a little extra income...

I could do some stop-go animation with some little wedding figures made from my sons play dough - As long as you don't mind the brides dress being illuminous green?

check out Show It Web Very easy to use.
We've been able to download a card of ceremony photos during dinner drop 20 or so photos into a slide show and have it up and running during the reception. The OOOO's and Ahhhh's are amazing and are excellent advertising for future brides at the ceremony.

| Last year I completed a DVD project for the local Lions Club which incorporated both video and still shots set to music. The total playing time was about 1 1/2 hours. I used Windows Movie Maker, and everyone loved the results! If you're interested, send me an e-mail or PM. |

I have a question, that's hopefully semi-related to this thread...
Where do you get music files to use - legally?
I ask because I've toyed with a software program (can't remember the name right now) that you can plug-in images and music to generate a DVD viewable on TV, PC, etc... Problem I ran into is the software checked for license rights to the music file. If the file was flagged as restricted you couldn't use it. That was the case with nearly all the music files I could access. |

| I'd be interested in this. I make demo reels, graphics, and websites for people/companies. This is something I can do pretty easily. |

I'd love to try my hand at it, but I'm stretched too thin already. Sorry. You can try using Window's Movie Maker. It comes free from Microsoft.

I'm pretty good with Macromedia Flash. I can set it up in Flash and save it to almost any format for playing on anything from a PC to TV to Ipod...

Ulead Pocket Slideshow is the software. It did a nice job, transitions, etc...
I've paid for various music downloads but this software wouldn't let them be loaded for the slideshow because it was licensed music.
Do some of the other software app's mentioned here allow the use of any music file or are there restrictions on most others also? |

On music use, I'm sure you're supposed to pay somebody something - ASCAP or some such - like you do if you have music on your answering machine, music on hold, if you're a DJ, etc.
Most photogs I know 'get around' this by telling the bride to bring in the music and then use her music on her DVD. For web display they all go with something stock, right free or windows photo story will conjure music from someplace that you can use.
As to the suggestions for software - I don't want to do this, don't want to buy the software, learn to use and spend the time to make the slideshow. I just want to pay a flat fee, send a disk of pics with a few MP3 songs and get back in a week or two a finished product.
Photostory for windows does a decent job for not much more effort than drag an drop, but it has limitations. I know pro show gold or producer are the progs to use. I just don't want to do it.

I would definetly be interested. I dont have many ways to support my photography interest... :P
Anyway, I know and have Proshow Gold, and i also use macromedia flash, so i could make the slideshows in proshow and add effects of any sort in flash. here is the only example that i have uploaded to the internet, but it doesnt include any flash effects, and i havent updated to get rid of the orange bar at the bottom. I do have the software though, and am definetly interested.
