Sorry we missed you Beth! We certainly tried, but our cell phones were useless.

I'll post many more photos in a day or two.

Glad you guys found your way off the mountain safely! Sorry I had to leave so early. I could have stayed out there all day. Thanks again to Neil for organizing. And I'm sorry that we didn't get to meet up with skinnere. I'm glad you enjoyed Bread Alone at least!

Edit to add that I hope to have some photos up tonight. Of course stupid me shot the whole day at ISO 1600 (d'oh!!!!) but at a quick glance they look mostly salvagable. I feel even more stupid about it, though, because Neil and I had a whole conversation about how the ISO setting worked differently between his Canon and my Nikon. Stupid, stupid, stupid....

Jessamyn began the day exactly the same, iso1600 ... thankfully, at the cliff she asked me why the sky on her shots was so blown out and she couldn't make it right with the exposure compensation.

that's life sometimes :(

Yeah, I was wondering my I was getting such fast shutter speeds, but I got so caught up in the scenery that I didn't think twice about it. I guess I'll chalk it up to a lesson learned and a good experiment to see what can be done at ISO 1600.

Is that all the pictures you guys have from the day? I wasn't able to make it, and was looking forward to more pics! :)

Let's face it, there was no Fall Foliage that weekend. There was only a bunch of Fall Guys (was there one girl too?) taking photos of each other. Fall foliage will peak probably at October 10 or so.

Okay, just to prove that there really was foliage that weekend, here are a few of my favorite shots from the day that don't include other DPCers.

It was quite lovely, really. And a lot of the leaves had changed already.

I'm from Albany and was just up at Bolton Landing & Lake George in the beginning of September and would love to have shot with you guys... oh well... it's a bit of a hike from Japan right now. But thanks for posting the gorgeous pics, makes me a little homesick ;-)
(Next time I'm in town I'll send out a post for another excursion...?)

Here are a few of mine. They could probably benefit from some NeatImage though. Don't think I'll be making any prints from this outing :(

Yes, but spelling isn't the hard part. Can they pronounce it? ;)

I'm thinking about a half day up in the Adirondack park area this weekend. I am not sure about timing yet. But it's peak there, and only an hour away, so how could I not!

Anyone interested?

I am really new to this site...tonight actually..However I would really love to get with someone that really knows what they are doing..I have been taking shots for about a year and a half with my digital SLR and would really like some tips and ideas to make it better. If you all have another gtg I would love to go. I go to the north end a lot and live only about an hour from Lake George. Hope to hear from you all...

P.S. The pics you all take are amazing...thank you
