Well, wasn't "really" an outtake, but rather my submission.
Requested self-DQ on this after watching it get kicked in the mud after 65+ votes.
Can anyone please tell me why this was a 4.75-5.00 image when I pulled it?

I honestly have no idea, and would really like an honest opinion, as I really liked this shot and the timing of it.
It met the challenge, but according to the score, didn't. Any ideas? What am I missing here?
Very little PP done btw.

I liked the second of the outtakes best, but the hands shot was too cool to resist even though everyone else poo-pooed it for whatever reason. I was disappointed that no one commented on there being exactly one red fish in the scene and how well the title pulled the fish and the family together.

Mine got dragged around in the mud but I already self DQ'd one shot so just had to take the beating.

I think what got you here is the bird is too small to be a real focal point of the image, and the tree is half obscured so it isn't very interesting. People are fickle man, what can you say.

I just want to say thanks to everyone for the nice/helpful comments and getting me to my highest scoring pic...

And I also want to say AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHH! I was soooooooooooooooooooo close to having a top 10. 11th in a way kinda bites a big one in the hieny. Like when your standing in line to get into the "Club" and the bouncer stops letting people in at you.

Not really an outtake.... but at least two people noticed (and mentioned) that they thought these two shots were similar:

Very astute! Yes, they are of the same model at the same time on the same rocks at the beach of the Great Salt Lake.
