Canon Rebel Workshop in Los Angeles

Hey members,
I was thinking about conducting a free workshops for newbies or non newbies with Rebels to increase knowledge about their Rebels in the Los Angeles area.

We would probably meet at Getty or Getty Villa and go through in a workshop like manner. I've about 7 EF mount lenses for folks to try out as well.

Any interested members?

It's a bit too far for me.
I'm interested in the LA County area in a venue I know so we can focus on techniques. I'm very familiar with the Rebles but I'm not familiar with the S2 IS though.

Maybe a sound tut instead might fit the bill, and create more interest.

Just a thought that basically squeezed it's way out from my brain, to my middle ear, down to my elbow, to the pinky and then spreading out in randomness onto my keyboard.

I like cheese puffs.

You do. It's free except for parking. Tickets usually become available one hour online they open for that day, so if we know how many we have then I can just order the tickets and meet there or just meet there after everyone gets tickets on their own.

How much of this is "Rebel-specific" as opposed to generic "DSLR-specific"?

Although I don't have a Rebel, I'm sure I can learn something from a shin-dig like this.

lesgainous: It's not newbie or Rebel specific. My only reason is that Rebel is a popular camera so there should be a lot of interest and since I'm familiar with the Rebel and have Canon mount lenses for those to try out. If you are familiar about how to set your metering, set aperature/shutter speed, EV, FEC, change ISO, that's all we need. You necessarily don't have to have a good understanding about how to use them, just how to set them in the camera.

That's great, then--I'm not a newbie and I'm certainly not a Rebel owner, but I'm sure I can always pick up a hint/tip or two.
