What feature do you wish your camera had, but doesn't? And I don't mean features that are available on other cameras, but not yours. I'm talking features that to your knowledge, no camera has yet.

Me? I wish there was a button to quickly reset my camera to a set of defaults that I specify. i.e., I like to keep my camera on ISO 100, f11, Auto White Balance, large jpeg, single shot. If I go out shooting and reset to ISO 200, f18, custom white balance, RAW, multishot, I want one button to reset everything, rather than needing to reset each one individually.

How about you?

Gee, most cameras have a "Custom" shooting mode where you can enter your own set of default settings as you describe.

That would make night shots tough.

Um.. you charge throughout the day ;)

Also, sun lamps work.

I'd love a 'pro mode' button, my cams seem to come set with 'average mode' as the default setting :(

I wish my camera had a DPC-meter... everytime I took a pic, it would show a "predicted score" graph!

Hey maybe I should copyright this...

:-)

I want a large, live view, swivel LCD screen.

Like you used to get in the old chess machines in the 80s, I would like a slot for say a SD or a CF card that contained the photographic personality of a master (or group of 'em) that could offer advice in the viewfinder when composing a shot.

So, if I am shooting a landscape I could imagine an "Ansel Adams" personality talking me through the zones. If I were shooting models then a "David Bailey" talking about poses and composition and dynamics. And then if I were taking nude cheese - well maybe one too far!

But you get the picture (or I would if I had this support)...

That would be my second most wanted feature. great idea. write to nikon and canon and tell them to get working on it.

Inflatable tripod in the bottom.
Parachute in case I let it fall off a cliff.

I'd like a micrometer dial in adjustment for minor corrections for autofocus errors. You could then program the offset into the camera and it would automatically adjust when you mount the lense.

Manual focus, and more than two aperture choices at each zoom level.

WiFi

Take a picture, and it is instantly saved to your hard drive on your computer. (without wires!)

When shooting sports... I wish I could tell the camera "what to follow" so that it could keep the focus on the player rather than getting confused and focusing on the high contrast turf that is 25 feet behind him!

And, althought I love the low noise (even at ISO 1600) and the high dynamic range of my 5D, I would still wish for more. Higher ISO, lower noise, greater dynamic range. (one can dream, can't he?)

1) More customisation of the firmware; API availablity e.t.c.
2) Wi-Fi.
3) User-definable button instead of the stupid "print" button - could be assigned to any menu function as per user (maybe a couple of buttons).
4) Image Stabilisation in camera.
5) Sensor cleaning (I see this is on the new XT).
6) Auto ISO upgrade in AV/TV mode as an option.
7) A LOT better timer options - think functions like on the expensive remote - take x pictures at x interval for x frames or similar.
8) A seconds SD card slot and a setting to allow camera to write to both serially (I know the 1-series has an SD slot as well but I think this is in parr not serial).
9) Weather seals (obviously available on the 1-series and Nikons).

Some of these need me to throw more $ to upgrade :-) but others are not available in any of the Cannon models.

Wow, that's an easy one. Dust removal system that works. Not the worthless ultrasonic sthck.
It'd be easy, just some clear thin film held in front of the cut-off filter. Have a spool in one side of the camera, and takeup spool on the other, just like film. ;) Have button to push to advance one frame of clear film when you discover a sensor booger. (hmm, with the current censoring threads maybe I shouldn't say booger.) Naw, Booger Booger Booger booger.

Also have an additional shutter just behind the lens mount that closes when you change lenses. That would help keep dust out of the chamber in the first place. This shouldn't be hard for camera companies to accomplish. They've been using shutters and film for over 50 years!
