I think you picked the right one. I recognized where it was taken immediately. You had a pretty good score, since they all have people I think you'd have done a little better with more stopped action from the kids too. like a jump or something but the expression on the kid in the "belly washing" pic is hilarious. poor kid looks traumatized.

Moving over to this thread now :).

Here is what I wanted to enter but was afraid of getting a DQ for my WPL team. the top right wire I had on a cable had a large highlight running down it and didn't know how much cloning was too much.

This was an idea I had earlier in the week, but I had to shoot at ISO 800 to get the stopped motion I wanted and I had to underexpose and couldn't get the spray to look right while trying to clean up the image. He is hitting water balloons.

Sheez...I wish the Automater whatsamajib gets its 'a' into gear and make the thread before everyone posts in another. But I will repost everything again.

Can I please get some comments on my job of editing my entry for this challenge?

Here is the submitted photo;

and here is the edited one;

Thanks to those who have already commented, any suggestions on techniques to make it better - ie how to do this in photoshop - would be gratefully received. I need to know so I can improve.

DOH! Guess we posted in the wrong thread...

Here are a few of mine, I had a bunch to choose from. I did have a few of comments during the challenge that my shot wasn't stopped motion but I have to disagree. IMHO, there needed to be something to convey to the viewer that the MAIN subject was IN motion so I went with what I did. I'm VERY happy with the outcome and even those that didn't agree with me left some wonderful comments and for that I need to say "THANKS!"

I got some comments regarding the crop and was wondering if anyone could please post some suggestions for the crop....I did try other than a square crop but the diagonals of the salvia (flowers) or either side seem to get lost and the bee becomes too centered. Thx!

entry :

i had been collecting old bulbs for a challenge like this to come around and had a box of about 13. this was #12...

unfortunately, i had the lighting all wrong. now that i know what the problem was, i will probably revisit this shot in the future... and yes... i've already begun collecting bulbs again...

outtake and setup :

in hindsight, i think the outtake would have faired a bit better...

How did you do this? I've seen so many of these and want to try it myself. Did you need any special equipment or anything? Thanks in advance.
